Setup
Unpacking
Carefully remove all packaging materials. Inspect the refrigerator for any damage. Report any damage to your retailer immediately.
Placement
The Smeg CF33SE is a freestanding model. Place the appliance on a firm, level surface away from direct sunlight and heat sources (e.g., ovens, radiators). Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit. Maintain a minimum clearance of 5 cm on the sides and back for proper air circulation.

Electrical Connection
Before plugging in the appliance, ensure the voltage and frequency match the ratings on the appliance's data plate. The refrigerator operates on 220-240 V, 50 Hz, with a nominal power of 120 W and current of 0.6 A. The power cord length is 215 cm.
Operating Instructions
Temperature Control
The temperature control is electromechanical. Adjust the thermostat dial inside the refrigerator compartment to set the desired cooling level. Higher numbers typically indicate colder temperatures.

The refrigerator compartment features 3 adjustable glass shelves, 1 standard fruit and vegetable drawer with a glass cover, 1 bottle rack shelf, 1 shelf with a transparent cover, 2 adjustable door balconies, and 1 bottle door shelf. LED internal lighting illuminates the compartment. A fan is included to aid in air circulation.

Freezer Compartment
The freezer compartment includes 2 drawers and 1 ice container with a dedicated shelf. The freezer requires manual defrosting.
Maintenance
Cleaning
Clean the interior and exterior of the refrigerator regularly with a mild detergent and warm water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure the antibacterial gasket is clean to maintain hygiene and sealing efficiency.
Defrosting
- Refrigerator: The refrigerator compartment features automatic defrosting. Water from the defrosting process is collected and evaporated automatically.
- Freezer: The freezer compartment requires manual defrosting. When the ice layer reaches a thickness of about 3-5 mm, turn off the appliance, remove all food, and allow the ice to melt naturally. Do not use sharp objects to remove ice.
Troubleshooting
If your refrigerator is not operating correctly, check the following common issues before contacting service.
- Appliance not cooling: Check if the power cord is properly plugged in and if the circuit breaker has tripped. Ensure the temperature control is set correctly.
- Excessive noise: Verify the appliance is level and not touching any walls or cabinets.
- Water on the floor: Check if the defrost water drain is blocked (refrigerator compartment) or if the freezer door is not sealing properly (manual defrost freezer).
- Food not freezing: Ensure the freezer door is closed completely and the temperature setting is appropriate. Avoid overloading the freezer.
