2. Setup Guide

2.1 Attaching the Battery

Align the battery with the back of the radio and slide it into place until it clicks securely. Ensure the battery is fully seated to maintain power connection.

2.2 Attaching the Antenna

Screw the antenna clockwise into the connector on the top of the radio until it is firmly attached. Do not overtighten.

2.3 Attaching the Belt Clip and Hand Strap

Secure the belt clip to the designated area on the back of the radio using the provided screws. Attach the hand strap to the loop on the radio for added security during use.

2.4 Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the radio's battery. Place the radio in the desktop charging base or connect the Type-C charging cable directly to the radio. The 2500 mAh battery provides approximately 17 hours of work time and 120 hours of standby time on a full charge.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Power On/Off

To power on the radio, rotate the power/volume knob clockwise until you hear a click. To power off, rotate it counter-clockwise until it clicks.

3.2 Channel Selection

Rotate the channel knob on the top of the radio to select your desired communication channel. The RT86A supports 30 memory channels.

3.3 Push-to-Talk (PTT)

Press and hold the large side button (PTT) to transmit your voice. Release the button to receive. Speak clearly into the microphone located on the front of the radio.

3.4 Group Call Function

The one-touch group call function allows you to contact team members across different channels. This feature is useful for work dispatch, emergency notifications, and team coordination in large-scale operations.

After the prompt tone, CTCSS/DCS will be turned off for all channels.
