Both cameras feature a high-resolution lens, infrared lights for night vision, a microphone, and a speaker for two-way audio. The CRS300 model includes pan and tilt capabilities for wider coverage, while the CQ425 is a fixed bullet camera. Both are designed for outdoor use with an IP65 waterproof rating.

5. Setup

5.1 Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge both cameras using the provided USB cable. Connect the cable to the camera's charging port and a standard 5V USB power adapter (not included). A full charge can take several hours.

5.2 App Installation

Download the VicoHome app from your smartphone's app store (iOS App Store or Google Play Store). Create an account and log in.

5.3 Camera Pairing

  1. Open the VicoHome app and tap the "+" icon to add a new device.
  2. Select your camera model (CRS300 or CQ425) from the list.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to power on the camera and reset it if necessary.
  4. Connect your phone to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. The camera does not support 5GHz Wi-Fi.
  5. Scan the QR code displayed on your phone screen with the camera lens. Hold the phone approximately 6-8 inches (15-20 cm) from the camera.
  6. Once the camera connects, it will indicate successful pairing. You can then name your camera and complete the setup.

5.4 Mounting the Cameras and Solar Panel

Both cameras are IP65 waterproof, suitable for various outdoor environments. Choose a mounting location that provides a clear view of the area you wish to monitor and good Wi-Fi signal strength.

  • Location Selection: Identify a sturdy surface (wall, eaves) for mounting. For the solar panel, choose a spot with maximum direct sunlight exposure throughout the day.
  • Drilling: Use the provided mounting template (if applicable) or mark the drill holes. Drill pilot holes for the screws.
  • Secure Mounting: Attach the mounting bracket to the surface using the screws. Then, secure the camera onto the bracket.
  • Solar Panel Connection: Connect the solar panel cable to the camera's charging port. Ensure the connection is secure and the cable is routed to prevent damage.

6. Operating the Camera

6.1 Live View

Open the VicoHome app and select your camera to access the live video feed. You can view real-time footage from your camera anytime, anywhere.

6.2 Two-Way Audio

The camera features a built-in microphone and speaker, allowing for two-way communication. Tap the microphone icon in the live view to speak through the camera, and listen to audio from the camera's surroundings.

6.3 Night Vision

The camera supports both black-and-white IR night vision and full-color night vision. You can adjust the night vision mode in the VicoHome app's 'Video Settings' page. The camera automatically switches to night vision in low-light conditions.

6.4 Smart Motion Detection & Zoom
