1. Introduction

2. Safety Information

  • Motor Housing: Contains the 12V motor and battery compartment.

4. Setup

  1. Charge Battery: Ensure the 12V Lithium-Ion battery is fully charged before use. Insert the charged battery into the tool's battery compartment until it clicks into place.
  2. Wear Protective Gear: Always put on safety glasses and gloves before handling the drain auger.
  3. Inspect Cable: Before each use, inspect the cable for any signs of damage, kinks, or wear. Do not use if the cable is damaged.
  4. Prepare Drain: Remove any drain covers or stoppers. Clear any visible debris from the drain opening.

5. Operating Instructions

The POPULO drain auger is designed for clearing clogs in pipes ranging from 3/4 inch to 2 inches in diameter.

  1. Insert Cable: Manually feed the cable into the drain opening until it reaches the clog or resistance.
  2. Activate Auto-Feed: Press the auto-feed button (refer to Figure 3.2) to engage the automatic cable feeding mechanism.
  3. Start Operation: Squeeze the trigger to start the motor and rotate the cable. The auto-feed will push the cable forward into the clog.
  4. Clear Clog: Allow the rotating cable to work through the clog. You may need to gently push and pull the auger to help the cable penetrate the obstruction.
  5. Retract Cable: Once the clog is cleared, release the trigger. To retract the cable, press the auto-feed button again and use the reverse switch if necessary, guiding the cable back into the drum.
  6. Test Drain: After removing the auger, run water down the drain to ensure the clog is fully cleared and water flows freely.

6. Maintenance

  • Clean Cable: After each use, clean the cable thoroughly to remove any debris, hair, or grease. Wipe it down with a damp cloth and dry it completely to prevent rust.
  • Inspect Cable: Regularly check the cable for wear, kinks, or damage. Replace the cable if it shows signs of significant wear or breakage.
  • Clean Tool Body: Wipe the exterior of the tool with a clean, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Battery Care: Store the battery in a cool, dry place. Do not store fully discharged. Charge it periodically if not in use for extended periods.
  • Storage: Store the drain auger in its protective storage bag in a dry, secure location, out of reach of children.
