3. Setup and Refilling

3.1 Butane Refilling Instructions

The Sondiko Butane Torch is shipped without butane gas. You will need to purchase a separate butane gas canister with a long nozzle. Ensure the torch is cool before refilling.

  1. Turn off the torch: Ensure the flame adjustment knob is turned to the minimum setting and the safety lock is engaged.
  2. Invert the torch: Hold the torch upside down to expose the gas filling valve at the base.
  3. Insert butane nozzle: Firmly insert the nozzle of the butane gas canister into the filling valve.
  4. Press and hold: Press down on the butane canister for approximately 5-10 seconds. You may hear a hissing sound as the gas fills. Repeat this process 2-3 times for a full refill.
  5. Wait: After refilling, wait a few minutes for the gas to stabilize and for any excess gas to dissipate before attempting to ignite the torch.

Note: The product includes red inflatable accessories (adapters) to ensure compatibility with various butane canister nozzles. Use the appropriate adapter if the canister nozzle does not fit directly.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Ignition

  1. Unlock: Slide the safety lock to the 'OFF' position (or unlock position, depending on model marking).
  2. Adjust Gas Flow: Turn the gas knob switch counter-clockwise to open the gas flow. For initial ignition, ensure the gas flow is set to a moderate level.
  3. Ignite: Press the Piezo Igniter Button. The flame should ignite instantly. If it does not ignite, release the button, adjust the gas flow slightly, and try again.

4.2 Adjusting the Flame

The flame size and intensity can be adjusted using the fuel flow regulator knob.

  • Increase Flame: Turn the fuel flow regulator knob towards the '+' or 'MAX' direction for a larger, hotter flame.
  • Decrease Flame: Turn the fuel flow regulator knob towards the '-' or 'MIN' direction for a smaller, softer flame.
