  • Keycap Care: Clean keycaps with mild soap and water if necessary, ensuring they are completely dry before reattaching.
  • Battery: The keyboard contains a 4000mAh rechargeable battery. Charge it via the USB-C cable when the battery indicator on the screen is low.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your GMK104 keyboard, refer to the following common solutions:

  • Keyboard Not Responding:
    • Check the connection mode switch (2.4G, USB, BT) on the side of the keyboard.
    • For wired mode, ensure the USB-C cable is securely connected to both the keyboard and your device. Try a different USB port or cable.
    • For 2.4GHz wireless, ensure the receiver is properly inserted and the keyboard is in 2.4G mode.
    • For Bluetooth, ensure the keyboard is in BT mode, paired correctly, and selected on the correct channel (FN+Q/W/E).
    • Check battery level on the screen; recharge if low.
  • Keys Not Registering / Double Typing:
    • This can sometimes be caused by loose switches. Gently press down on the affected switch to ensure it is fully seated in the hot-swap socket.
    • If the issue persists, try replacing the switch with a known working one.
    • Ensure the keyboard firmware is up to date (check the ZMX/BOYI official website).
  • VIA Software Not Detecting Keyboard:
    • Ensure the keyboard is connected via USB-C wired mode and the mode switch is set to USB.
    • Verify that the correct GMK104 JSON file has been loaded into the VIA software.
    • Try re-inserting the USB cable.
    • Restart the VIA software and/or your computer.
  • RGB Backlight Issues:
    • Press FN + | to cycle through different lighting effects.
    • Adjust brightness using dedicated keys or VIA software.
