Note: Not compatible with 2019-2024 Chevrolet Colorado and 2013-2024 GMC Canyon.

6. Setup and Installation

Installation requires drilling into the truck bed. It is recommended to have a second person assist with assembly and mounting.

6.1. Assemble the Extender Frame

1. Unpack all components and verify against the "What's in the Box" section.
2. Connect the curved outer bend pipes to the inner straight pipes using the provided hardware. Ensure the holes align for secure fastening.
3. Attach the vertical support brackets to the assembled pipes. The brackets have large and small card slots; ensure correct orientation as per the diagram in the included manual.
4. Secure all connections with the provided screws and bolts. Do not overtighten until the full frame is assembled.
5. Attach the strap buckle assemblies to the designated points on the extender frame.

6.2. Mount Brackets to Truck Bed

1. Position the assembled extender frame in your truck bed with the tailgate down to determine the optimal mounting locations for the quick mount brackets.
2. Use the provided drilling templates to mark the drill points on the side pillars of your truck bed. Ensure the location allows for the 180° flip design to function without obstruction.
3. Using a drill and the supplied drill bit (if applicable), carefully drill pilot holes at the marked locations.
4. Attach the quick mount brackets to the truck bed using the supplied self-tapping screws. Ensure they are firmly secured.
5. Repeat for both sides of the truck bed.

6.3. Install Extender into Mounts

1. Carefully slide the assembled bed extender into the mounted quick release brackets on each side of the truck bed.
2. Listen for a click or visually confirm that the extender is securely seated in the brackets.
3. Test the extender by gently lifting and flipping it to ensure it moves smoothly and locks into position.

7. Operating the Truck Bed Extender

The LOX ROX Mid Extender features a versatile 180° flip design, allowing for two primary modes of operation:

7.1. Tailgate Extender Mode (Flipped Out)

When the tailgate is down, flip the extender outwards to create an additional 21 inches of loading space. This mode is ideal for transporting longer items such as:

• Wood planks
• Kayaks
• UTVs or ATVs
• Large boxes or cargo

Ensure all cargo is properly secured using the provided strap buckle assemblies or other appropriate tie-downs to prevent shifting during transit.
