3. Operating Instructions

The METOD Pax/Mehamn Wardrobe is designed for ease of use and efficient storage.

  • Sliding Doors: The wardrobe features sliding doors that glide smoothly along their rails. To open or close, gently push or pull the door panel. Sliding doors do not require outward space to open, making them ideal for smaller rooms or areas where space is at a premium.
  • Internal Organization: Utilize the provided shelves, clothes rails, and mesh baskets for optimal storage. Mesh baskets are particularly useful for items requiring ventilation, such as folded clothes, socks, or accessories.
  • Customization: The PAX planning tool can be used to explore and integrate additional KOMPLEMENT interior organizers, allowing you to adapt the wardrobe's internal layout as your needs evolve.

4. Maintenance and Care

To ensure the longevity and appearance of your METOD Pax/Mehamn Wardrobe, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning Surfaces: Wipe clean with a cloth dampened in a mild cleaner. Then wipe dry with a clean cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that can damage the surface materials (particleboard, fibreboard, paper foil, laminate, melamine foil).
  • Door Rails: Periodically check the aluminum door rails for any dust or debris that might hinder smooth operation. Clean with a dry cloth or a soft brush. Do not apply lubricants unless specifically recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Metal Components: The clothes rail and mesh baskets are made of steel with epoxy/polyester powder coating. Clean these with a damp cloth and mild detergent, then dry thoroughly.
  • General Care: Avoid placing hot items directly on the surface. Protect from excessive moisture and direct sunlight to prevent warping or fading.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your METOD Pax/Mehamn Wardrobe, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Sliding Doors Not Moving Smoothly:
Possible Cause: Debris in the door rails or misaligned doors.
Solution: Inspect the top and bottom rails for any obstructions (dust, small objects) and carefully remove them. Ensure the doors are properly seated in their tracks. If misalignment persists, re-check the assembly instructions for door installation.
  • Wardrobe Feels Unstable or Wobbly:
Possible Cause: Uneven floor or improperly adjusted feet.
Solution: Use the adjustable feet at the base of the wardrobe to level it. Turn the feet clockwise or counter-clockwise until the wardrobe is stable and does not rock. Ensure all connections from assembly are tightened.
  • Drawers/Baskets Not Sliding Easily:
Possible Cause: Obstruction or misaligned pull-out rails.
Solution: Check the mesh baskets and their pull-out rails for any items blocking movement. Ensure the rails are correctly installed and aligned according to the assembly instructions.
