Operating Instructions
The Salter Digital Soup Maker features 5 distinct settings for versatile use.
- Prepare Ingredients: Chop ingredients into small pieces (approximately 2-3 cm) to ensure even cooking and blending.
- Add Ingredients: Place all desired ingredients into the stainless steel jug. Ensure the liquid level is between the 'MIN' (1000ml) and 'MAX' (1600ml) fill lines. Overfilling can trigger the overflow sensor and stop operation.
- Secure Lid: Place the lid firmly onto the jug, ensuring it is properly aligned and locked.
- Select Program: Plug in the appliance. The control panel on the lid will illuminate. Press the 'Mode' button repeatedly to cycle through the available programs:
- Smooth: For creamy, blended soups and sauces. The appliance will heat and blend ingredients to a fine consistency.
- Chunky: For hearty soups with visible pieces of ingredients. The appliance will heat and gently stir, with minimal blending.
- Drinks: Ideal for making smoothies, milkshakes, or cold beverages. This setting primarily blends without heating.
- Keep Warm: Maintains the temperature of cooked soup for a period after the cooking cycle finishes.
- Blend/Clean: A short blending cycle used for quick mixing or for assisting with cleaning.
- Start Cooking: Once the desired program is selected, press the 'Start/Stop' button to begin. The appliance will automatically proceed through the heating and blending cycles for the chosen program.
- Automatic Memory: If the lid is removed during operation, the appliance will pause. When the lid is replaced, it will resume from where it left off, allowing you to add ingredients mid-cycle.
- Overflow Sensor: The integrated overflow sensor will automatically stop the appliance if the contents exceed the maximum fill line, preventing spills and mess.
- Serving: Once the program is complete, carefully remove the lid and pour the contents into serving bowls. Use the handle for safe pouring.

Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning ensures hygiene and extends the life of your soup maker.
- Unplug: Always unplug the appliance from the mains power supply and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Blend/Clean Function: For easy cleaning, after use, add warm water and a small amount of washing-up liquid to the jug (up to the MIN line). Secure the lid and select the 'Blend/Clean' function. This will help dislodge food residue from the blades and jug interior.
- Manual Cleaning: After using the 'Blend/Clean' function, or for more thorough cleaning, carefully detach the motor unit from the jug. Wash the jug interior and lid with warm, soapy water and a non-abrasive sponge. Rinse thoroughly.
- Motor Unit: Wipe the exterior of the motor unit with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the motor unit in water or any other liquid. Be careful around the sharp blades.
- Drying and Storage: Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling or storing the appliance. Store in a cool, dry place, ideally in its original packaging or a cabinet.
