4. Setup and Pairing

Follow these steps to connect your Portronics Worldtag to your Apple device using the Find My app:

1. Unbox and Prepare: Carefully remove the Worldtag from its packaging. Ensure the small plastic tab is removed from the battery compartment to activate the device.
2. Power On: Press the button on the Worldtag. The locator will beep, indicating it is ready for pairing.
3. Open Find My App: On your iOS device, open the Apple 'Find My' app and ensure Bluetooth is enabled.
4. Add Item: Navigate to the 'Items' tab in the Find My app. Tap the '+' icon and select 'Add Other Item'.
5. Connect: The app will search for nearby devices. Once 'World Tag' appears, tap 'Connect'.
6. Name Your Tag: Follow the prompts to name your Worldtag and choose an emoji to represent it.
7. Agree and Finish: Review the privacy information and tap 'Agree', then 'Finish' to complete the setup.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Locating Your Item (Buzzer Alert)

If your Worldtag is within Bluetooth range (up to 20 meters), you can make it play a sound to help you find it. Open the Find My app, select your Worldtag, and tap 'Play Sound'. The Worldtag will emit a loud buzzer sound, guiding you to its location.

5.2. Left Behind Alert

The Worldtag can notify you if you accidentally leave an item behind. To enable this feature, open the Find My app, select your Worldtag, and go to 'Notifications'. Turn on 'Notify When Left Behind'. You will receive an alert on your iOS device when the Worldtag is out of Bluetooth range from your device.

5.3. Shared Tracking for Groups

The Worldtag allows you to share the location of your tagged items with up to five other people through the Find My app. This enables collaborative item tracking, where group members can view the item's location, play a sound, and utilize Precision Finding for shared localization. To share, select your Worldtag in the Find My app and tap 'Share This Item'.

5.4. Lost Mode

If you lose your Worldtag and it's out of Bluetooth range, you can enable 'Lost Mode' in the Find My app. This feature allows you to leave a message and a contact phone number or email address. If another Apple device user finds your item, they can see your contact information and help return it. You will also receive a notification when your item is found and its location is updated.

6. Battery Replacement

The Portronics Worldtag uses a standard CR2032 coin cell battery, which provides up to one year of battery life. When the battery is low, you will receive a notification on your iOS device. To replace the battery:

1. Gently open the Worldtag casing.
2. Remove the old CR2032 battery.
3. Insert a new CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
4. Close the casing securely.

7. Troubleshooting

• Device not pairing:
  • Ensure your iOS device's Bluetooth is turned on.
  • Make sure the Worldtag has a fresh battery and the plastic tab has been removed.
  • Bring the Worldtag closer to your iOS device.
  • Restart your iOS device and try pairing again.
• No sound from Worldtag:
  • Check the battery level of the Worldtag in the Find My app.
  • Ensure the Worldtag is within Bluetooth range of your iOS device.
• Location not updating:
  • The Worldtag relies on nearby Apple devices to update its location. In areas with fewer Apple devices, updates may be less frequent.
  • Ensure the Worldtag is not in an area that blocks Bluetooth signals (e.g., inside metal containers).
• Left Behind Alert not working:
  • Verify that 'Notify When Left Behind' is enabled for your Worldtag in the Find My app.
  • Check your iOS device's notification settings to ensure Find My alerts are allowed.
