3.2 Connecting Test Leads
For voltage, resistance, capacitance, continuity, and diode measurements, connect the test leads to the input jacks:
- Insert the black test lead into the COM (Common) jack.
- Insert the red test lead into the INPUT jack.
Warning: Ensure test leads are securely connected before taking measurements.
4. Operating Instructions
To power on the device, long-press the power button. The meter will automatically enter auto-ranging mode. Use the SELECT button to cycle through different measurement functions within a mode.
4.1 AC/DC Current Measurement (Clamp Function)
The U-shaped clamp allows for non-invasive current measurement.
- Ensure the meter is in AC/DC current mode (indicated by A~ or A= on the display).
- Open the clamp jaws and encircle a single conductor (not a bundle of wires) through the center of the jaws.
- Read the current value on the display.

4.2 Voltage Measurement (AC/DC)
- Connect the test leads as described in Section 3.2.
- Select the appropriate AC Voltage (V~) or DC Voltage (V=) mode using the SELECT button.
- Touch the test probes to the points where voltage needs to be measured (e.g., across a component or power source).
- Read the voltage value on the display.
4.3 Resistance Measurement
- Connect the test leads as described in Section 3.2.
- Select the Resistance (Ω) mode.
- Ensure the circuit or component is de-energized before measuring resistance.
- Touch the test probes across the component to measure its resistance.
- Read the resistance value on the display.
4.4 Capacitance Measurement
- Connect the test leads as described in Section 3.2.
- Select the Capacitance (F) mode.
- Ensure the capacitor is fully discharged before measurement to prevent damage to the meter.
- Touch the test probes to the capacitor terminals.
- Read the capacitance value on the display.
4.5 Continuity Test
- Connect the test leads as described in Section 3.2.
- Select the Continuity (buzzer icon) mode.
- Touch the test probes to the two points of the circuit or component.
- If there is continuity (low resistance), the meter will emit an audible beep.
4.6 Diode Test
- Connect the test leads as described in Section 3.2.
- Select the Diode (diode symbol) mode.
- Touch the red probe to the anode and the black probe to the cathode of the diode.
- The display will show the forward voltage drop. Reverse the probes; an open circuit reading indicates a good diode.
4.7 Frequency Measurement (Hz)
- Connect the test leads as described in Section 3.2.
- Select the Frequency (Hz) mode.
- Touch the test probes to the circuit where frequency needs to be measured.
- Read the frequency value on the display.
4.8 Non-Contact Voltage (NCV) Detection
The NCV function allows for detecting AC voltage without direct contact, enhancing safety.
- Long-press the SELECT button to activate the NCV function.
- Bring the top part of the clamp meter close to the wire or circuit to be tested.
- The device will emit an audible tone and the display will indicate the presence of an electromagnetic field if voltage is detected.

4.9 Flashlight Function
The meter includes a built-in flashlight for illuminating work areas.
- To turn on the flashlight, long-press the power button.
- To turn off the flashlight, long-press the power button again.

4.10 Data Hold Function
To freeze the current reading on the display:
- Press the HOLD button (often integrated with the SELECT button or a dedicated button).
- Press it again to release the hold and resume live readings.
5. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the meter with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for an extended period, ensure the battery is partially charged.
- Battery Care: Recharge the lithium battery regularly to maintain its lifespan, even if not frequently used.
- Safety: Always ensure the meter is turned off when not in use. Disconnect test leads before cleaning or storage.
6. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your ANENG PN130 Clamp Meter.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Meter does not power on. | Battery is depleted. | Charge the battery using the USB-C cable. |
| Inaccurate readings. | Incorrect mode selected; poor test lead connection; external interference. | Verify the measurement mode; ensure test leads are firmly connected; move away from strong electromagnetic fields. |
| No NCV detection. | NCV function not activated; voltage too low or too far. | Long-press SELECT to activate NCV; bring the meter closer to the conductor. |
| Display shows "OL" (Overload). | Measurement exceeds the meter's range. | Ensure the measurement is within the specified range for the selected function. |
