6. Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance are crucial for optimal performance and longevity of your Gevi Nugget Ice Maker.
6.1. Daily Cleaning:
- Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth.
- Remove the ice basket and wash it with mild soap and warm water. Rinse thoroughly.
6.2. Self-Cleaning Cycle:
It is recommended to run the self-cleaning cycle regularly, especially if using tap water or if you notice a change in ice quality.
- Ensure the ice basket is empty.
- Fill the water reservoir with clean water up to the MAX fill line. For enhanced cleaning, a descaling solution (e.g., citric acid solution) can be added as per product instructions.
- Press and hold the "Clean" button for a few seconds to initiate the cleaning cycle. The "Cleaning" indicator light will illuminate.
- The cycle will run for a set period (refer to your specific model's manual for exact duration).
- Once the cycle is complete, drain the water from the reservoir using the drain hose.
- Run a fresh water rinse cycle (without descaling solution) to remove any residual cleaning agents. Drain again.

6.3. Water Quality:
Using distilled water is highly recommended to prevent mineral buildup, which can affect ice quality and the machine's performance. Hard water can lead to frequent descaling needs and potential blockages.
