Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the proper use and maintenance of your Sony HDR-CX220 Full HD Camcorder. The HDR-CX220 features Full HD 60p recording, SteadyShot image stabilization, 27x optical zoom, 32x extended zoom, and a wide-angle Carl Zeiss lens. It supports AVCHD and MP4 recording formats.

Setup

1. Charging the Battery

Before initial use, fully charge the supplied battery pack. Connect the AC adapter to the camcorder and a wall outlet. The CHARGE lamp will light up during charging and turn off when complete.

2. Inserting a Memory Card

Open the memory card slot cover and insert a compatible Memory Stick or SD card until it clicks into place. Ensure the card is inserted in the correct orientation.

3. Powering On/Off

Open the LCD panel to power on the camcorder. Close the LCD panel to power off. Alternatively, use the POWER/CHG button if available.

Operating Instructions

1. Recording Videos

To begin recording, press the START/STOP button located at the rear of the camcorder. Press it again to stop recording. The recording indicator will appear on the LCD screen.

2. Using Zoom

Use the zoom lever (W/T) located on the top of the camcorder to adjust the zoom. Push towards T for telephoto (zoom in) and towards W for wide-angle (zoom out). The camcorder features 27x optical zoom and 32x extended zoom.

3. Capturing Still Images

Press the PHOTO button to capture still images during video recording or in still image mode. The camcorder has an 8.9 MP Exmor R sensor.

4. Playback

To view recorded videos or photos, switch the camcorder to playback mode. Use the LCD touchscreen to navigate through your media. The camcorder's LCD screen allows for easy navigation and review of recorded content.
