Invicta Pro Diver ACW495-001 Mechanical Watch Instruction Manual

Model: ACW495-001

1. Introduction

This manual provides essential instructions for the proper use, setup, and maintenance of your Invicta Pro Diver ACW495-001 mechanical watch. Please read this manual thoroughly to ensure optimal performance and longevity of your timepiece. This watch features an automatic mechanical movement, a stainless steel case, a black dial, and is water-resistant to 200 meters.

2. Setup and Initial Operation

2.1 Winding the Watch

Your Invicta Pro Diver ACW495-001 is powered by an automatic mechanical movement. It winds itself through the motion of your wrist. However, if the watch has stopped or has not been worn for an extended period, it may require manual winding to initiate operation.

  1. Unscrew the crown (if it is a screw-down crown) by turning it counter-clockwise until it springs free.
  2. In position 1 (fully pushed in, or unscrewed and not pulled out), turn the crown clockwise approximately 20-30 times. This will provide sufficient power reserve to start the watch.
  3. Once wound, the second hand should begin to move.

2.2 Setting the Time and Date

The crown has multiple positions for setting the time and date.

  1. Position 1 (Normal Operating Position): Crown is fully pushed in and screwed down (if applicable). The watch is running and water resistance is maintained.
  2. Position 2 (Date Setting Position): Gently pull the crown out to the first click. Turn the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to adjust the date. Avoid setting the date between 9:00 PM and 3:00 AM, as this can damage the movement.
  3. Position 3 (Time Setting Position): Pull the crown out to the second click. The second hand will stop. Turn the crown to set the hour and minute hands. To ensure accurate time setting, synchronize with a reliable time source.
  4. Once time and date are set, push the crown back into Position 1. If it is a screw-down crown, gently push it in while turning clockwise to secure it tightly against the case. This is crucial for maintaining water resistance.

3. Operating the Watch

3.1 Water Resistance (200 meters)

Your Invicta Pro Diver ACW495-001 is water-resistant to 200 meters (660 feet). This rating makes it suitable for professional marine activity and serious surface water sports, but not for saturation diving.

  • Important: Ensure the crown is always fully screwed down before exposing the watch to water.
  • Do not operate the crown or pushers (if any) while the watch is submerged in water.
  • After exposure to saltwater, rinse the watch with fresh water and dry it thoroughly.

3.2 Unidirectional Rotating Bezel

The watch features a unidirectional rotating bezel, typically used for timing elapsed events, such as dive times. The bezel rotates only counter-clockwise to prevent accidental increases in elapsed time.

  1. Rotate the bezel counter-clockwise to align the zero marker with the minute hand at the start of the event you wish to time.
  2. Read the elapsed time on the bezel against the minute hand.

4. Maintenance and Care

4.1 Cleaning

To maintain the appearance of your watch:

  • Wipe the case and bracelet with a soft, dry cloth regularly.
  • For stainless steel, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by thorough drying.
  • Avoid using chemical cleaners, as they may damage the watch's finish or seals.

4.2 Servicing

Mechanical watches benefit from periodic servicing to ensure accuracy and proper function. It is recommended to have your watch serviced by an authorized Invicta service center every 3-5 years. This service typically includes cleaning, lubrication, and adjustment of the movement, as well as replacement of seals to maintain water resistance.

4.3 Storage

When not wearing your watch, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and strong magnetic fields, which can affect the movement's accuracy.

5. Troubleshooting

  • Watch has stopped or is running inaccurately: Manually wind the watch as described in Section 2.1. If the issue persists, the watch may require servicing.
  • Date does not change: Ensure the watch has sufficient power reserve. Check if the date was set during the prohibited hours (9 PM - 3 AM). If so, avoid this in the future and manually advance the date past this period.
  • Moisture under the crystal: This indicates a loss of water resistance. Immediately take the watch to an authorized service center to prevent further damage to the movement.
