4. Setup
4.1 Unpacking
- Carefully remove all packaging materials from the espresso machine.
- Check that all components are present and undamaged.
- Clean all removable parts (water tank, portafilter, filter baskets, drip tray) with warm soapy water, then rinse thoroughly and dry.
4.2 First Use / Priming
- Fill the removable 1.6-liter water tank with fresh, cold water up to the MAX level. Ensure the tank is properly seated.
- Place a cup under the portafilter head (without coffee).
- Plug the machine into a grounded power outlet. Press the power button to turn on the machine. The indicator light will illuminate.
- Wait for the machine to heat up. The indicator light for brewing will stop flashing and remain solid when ready.
- Press the espresso brewing button to run hot water through the system for about 30 seconds. This primes the pump and cleans the internal components. Repeat this process 2-3 times.
- Turn the steam control knob to the steam position to release any air from the steam wand, then close it.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Making Espresso
- Ensure the machine is primed and heated (brewing indicator light solid).
- Using the included measuring spoon, add ground coffee to the portafilter. For a single shot, use one level scoop; for a double shot, use two.
- Gently tamp the coffee grounds evenly with the tamper end of the spoon. Do not over-tamp.
- Attach the portafilter to the group head by aligning it and twisting firmly to the right until secure.
- Place your espresso cup(s) on the drip tray beneath the portafilter spouts.
- Press the espresso brewing button. The machine will begin extracting espresso.
- Once the desired amount of espresso is brewed (typically 25-30 seconds for a single shot), press the espresso brewing button again to stop the flow.
- Carefully remove the portafilter by twisting it to the left. Dispose of the used coffee grounds.

5.2 Frothing Milk
- Ensure the machine is powered on and the steam indicator light is solid, indicating it has reached steaming temperature.
- Fill a stainless steel frothing pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy) to just below the spout.
- Position the steam wand just below the surface of the milk.
- Slowly turn the steam control knob to release steam. Lower the pitcher slightly to introduce air for frothing, then submerge the wand deeper to heat the milk.
- Continue until the milk reaches the desired temperature and texture. Be careful not to overheat the milk.
- Turn off the steam control knob, then remove the pitcher.
- Immediately wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue from drying. Briefly open the steam knob again to clear any milk from the nozzle.
6. Cleaning and Maintenance
6.1 Daily Cleaning
- After each use, remove and empty the portafilter. Rinse it and the filter basket under running water.
- Empty and clean the drip tray and grid.
- Wipe the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.
- Clean the steam wand immediately after frothing milk.
6.2 Descaling
Regular descaling is crucial to maintain optimal performance and extend the lifespan of your espresso machine. The frequency depends on water hardness and usage.
- Prepare a descaling solution according to the descaler manufacturer's instructions.
- Fill the water tank with the descaling solution.
- Place a large container under the portafilter and steam wand.
- Run half of the solution through the portafilter by pressing the espresso brewing button.
- Open the steam knob to release steam through the wand until half of the remaining solution is used.
- Turn off the machine and let it sit for 15-20 minutes.
- Repeat steps 4 and 5 with the remaining solution.
- Rinse the water tank thoroughly and fill it with fresh water. Run several full tanks of fresh water through both the portafilter and steam wand to rinse the system completely.
