1. Safety Information

3. Setup

Before first use, the generator requires initial setup, including adding engine oil and fuel.

3.1 Add Engine Oil

  1. Place the generator on a level surface.
  2. Locate the oil fill cap/dipstick.
  3. Using the provided funnel, carefully add the recommended engine oil (refer to the specifications section for oil type and capacity). Do not overfill.
  4. Replace the oil fill cap/dipstick securely.

3.2 Add Fuel

  1. Ensure the generator is off and cool.
  2. Open the fuel tank cap.
  3. Fill the fuel tank with fresh, unleaded gasoline (minimum 87 octane). Do not overfill.
  4. Securely close the fuel tank cap.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Starting the Generator (Recoil Start)

  1. Ensure the generator is on a level surface and away from any obstructions.
  2. Turn the three-in-one switch knob to the 'ON' position. If starting cold, also turn to 'CHOKE'.
  3. Firmly grasp the recoil starter handle and pull it slowly until resistance is felt.
  4. Pull the handle quickly and smoothly to start the engine.
  5. Once the engine starts, slowly move the three-in-one switch knob from 'CHOKE' to 'ON' (if applicable).

4.2 Eco Mode Operation

The Eco Mode feature automatically adjusts engine speed to match the load, reducing noise and fuel consumption. To activate Eco Mode, press the 'ECO' switch on the control panel.

4.3 Parallel Operation

The Redact Ra3800i is parallel capable, allowing you to connect two compatible generators for increased power output. A parallel kit (sold separately) is required. Follow the instructions provided with the parallel kit for safe connection and operation. Do not connect in parallel with different types of generators.
