2. Safety Information
To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, observe the following:
- Installation work and electrical wiring must be done by qualified person(s) in accordance with all applicable codes and standards, including fire-rated construction.
- Sufficient air is needed for proper combustion and exhausting of gases through the flue (chimney) of fuel-burning equipment to prevent back-drafting. Follow the heating equipment manufacturer's guideline and safety standards such as those published by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and the American Society for Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), and the local code authorities.
- When cutting or drilling into wall or ceiling, do not damage electrical wiring and other hidden utilities.
- Ducted fans must always be vented to the outdoors.
- Do not use this unit with any solid-state speed control device.
- To reduce the risk of fire, use only metal ductwork.
- Always turn off power to the range hood at the service panel before servicing.
- Clean grease filters frequently. Grease should not be allowed to accumulate on fan or filter.
- Never leave surface units unattended at high settings. Boilovers cause smoking and greasy spillovers that may ignite.
- Always use appropriate size cookware for the surface unit.

4. Setup & Installation
This range hood is designed for wall-mounted, ducted installation only. It is not suitable for ductless configurations. Ensure proper planning for duct routing and electrical connections.
4.1 Installation Requirements
- Mounting Type: Wall Mount.
- Ducting: Requires a 6-inch round aluminum duct for external venting. Ensure the duct path is as short and straight as possible for optimal performance.
- Electrical: The unit operates on 110V. Ensure a suitable electrical outlet is available within reach of the power cord, or consult a qualified electrician for hardwiring.
- Clearance: Maintain a minimum distance of 25.5 inches and a maximum of 32 inches between the cooktop surface and the bottom of the range hood.
- Ceiling Height: Suitable for ceiling heights between 7 feet and 8.4 feet.

Figure 4.2: Important dimensions for proper range hood placement relative to the cooktop and ceiling.
4.2 Installation Steps (General Overview)
- Preparation: Unpack all components and inspect for damage. Ensure the power supply is disconnected at the circuit breaker.
- Marking: Use the provided template or measure carefully to mark the mounting points on the wall for the range hood and chimney bracket.
- Ducting Connection: Install the 6-inch round duct connector and connect the flexible aluminum ductwork, ensuring all connections are sealed to prevent air leaks.
- Mounting the Hood: Secure the range hood body to the wall using appropriate anchors and screws, ensuring it is level and firmly attached to wall studs where possible.
- Electrical Connection: Connect the range hood to the electrical supply. If hardwiring, ensure connections are made by a qualified electrician.
- Chimney Installation: Install the upper and lower chimney sections, sliding them into place and securing them to the chimney mounting bracket.
- Final Checks: Reconnect power and test all functions (fan speeds, lights, gesture control).
5. Operating Instructions

5.2 Gesture Sensing
The gesture sensing feature allows for hands-free operation. Simply wave your hand horizontally over the sensing points on the control panel to activate or adjust functions. Ensure your hand motion does not pass through both sensing points simultaneously and is not too slow for accurate detection.
5.3 Fan Speed Recommendations
- Low Speed: Ideal for simmering and light sautéing.
- Medium Speed: Recommended for pan frying and steak searing.
- High Speed: Best for deep frying and cooking strong-smelling dishes.

Figure 5.2: Recommended fan speeds for different cooking scenarios.
5.4 Lighting
The range hood is equipped with two 3W LED lights to illuminate your cooking surface, providing clear visibility. These lights are energy-saving and can be controlled via the touch or gesture panel.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your range hood.
6.1 Filter Cleaning
The range hood includes two permanent stainless steel baffle filters. These filters are designed to trap up to 98% of grease and are dishwasher-safe for easy cleaning.
- Removal: To remove, locate the latch on each filter, push it in, and pull the filter downwards.
- Cleaning: Place filters in the dishwasher or wash by hand with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
- Reinstallation: Ensure filters are completely dry before reinserting them into the range hood.

6.2 General Cleaning
The stainless steel and tempered glass surfaces are easy to clean. Use a soft cloth with a non-abrasive stainless steel cleaner or mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads that could scratch the surfaces.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your range hood, refer to the following common troubleshooting tips. For problems not listed here, or if issues persist, contact customer support.
- No Power: Check if the unit is properly plugged into a working electrical outlet. Verify the circuit breaker has not tripped.
- Fan Not Working: Ensure the fan speed is selected on the control panel. Check for any obstructions in the fan or ductwork.
- Poor Suction: Verify that the ductwork is properly installed and sealed. Clean the grease filters if they are clogged. Ensure the fan speed is set appropriately for the cooking task.
- Lights Not Working: Check if the light function is activated on the control panel. If individual bulbs are out, they may need replacement (consult specifications for bulb type).
- Excessive Noise: Ensure the unit is securely mounted and all screws are tightened. Check for obstructions in the fan or ductwork. Verify that the ductwork is not vibrating against other surfaces.
- Gesture Control Unresponsive: Ensure your hand motion is horizontal and within the recommended distance (no closer than 5.9 inches from the panel). Avoid slow or erratic movements.
