Setup and Initial Preparation
1. Unpacking and Initial Assembly
The MGI Zip Navigator AT features an innovative Zip Fold Technology for compact storage and easy transport.
- Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
- Unfold the caddy frame until it locks into its operational position.
- Inverting Rear Wheels for Storage: The rear wheels can be inverted on the axle to reduce the footprint when not in use. To invert, press the Quick Release Button on the wheel hub and remove the wheel. Re-attach the wheel with the hub protruding away from the axle.
- 5th Foldable Rear Wheel: Ensure the 5th foldable rear wheel is unfolded and locked into position before use. This provides stability and prevents damage. Clean this wheel regularly.
2. Initial Battery Charging
Before using your MGI Zip Navigator AT for the first time, the battery must be fully charged overnight.
- Plug the AC lead of the charger into a power outlet. The green LED on the charger will illuminate, indicating power.
- Connect the charger output to the charging port on the front of the battery. The red LED on the charger will illuminate, indicating the battery is charging.
- Once the charging LED turns green, the battery is fully charged and ready for use.
3. Connecting the Battery to the Caddy
The MGI Zip Navigator AT features a fail-safe battery connection system.
- Position the charged battery onto the MGI Zip Navigator AT and push down firmly to secure it.
- Push the handle down to connect the battery to the caddy. The caddy will not move until the speed control is switched on.
4. Remote Control Charging
Charge the remote control overnight before its first use using the provided USB cord.
- During charging, the top-left UNLOCK button on the remote will flash.
- A full charge is indicated when the green light on the remote remains solid and stops flashing.
- The remote can also be charged via the USB port located underneath the caddy's top handle during play.
Operation
1. Powering On and Speed Control
- Once the battery is connected, turn on the speed control to activate the caddy.
- Use the remote control to adjust the variable speed setting from 1 to 20.
2. Digital Display and Features
The advanced digital electronics display provides key information:
- Battery Levels: Four color-coded indicators show the current battery charge for both the caddy and the remote control.
- Distance Modes: Two resettable distances (A & B) are available, along with a total odometer. Units can be set to Yards/Meters or Miles/Kilometers.
- USB Charging Port: A USB port is located underneath the top handle for charging mobile devices or the remote control during play.
3. All-Terrain Performance
The MGI Zip Navigator AT is designed for various course terrains.
- It features a 4-wheel design with dual swiveling front wheels for enhanced maneuverability.
- The all-terrain tread design is suitable for flat, moderate, hilly, and mountainous golf courses.
- The 5th foldable rear wheel must always be unfolded during use for maximum stability.
4. Drive Position and Free Wheel
The rear wheels can be set in two positions:
- Drive Position: Used for normal operation. The wheel is locked onto the axle in the inner groove.
- Free Wheel Position: Allows the caddy to be pushed freely if there are battery or caddy issues. The wheel is locked onto the axle in the outer groove.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning
- Use an air compressor (e.g., at a shoe cleaning station) to remove grass, moisture, or debris from the caddy.
- Wipe the caddy with a cloth dampened with warm water and mild detergent.
- Important: Do not hose down your Zip Navigator AT under any circumstances, as it contains electronic components.
- Clean the battery base when the battery is removed from the caddy.
- Regularly clean the 5th foldable rear wheel to ensure proper folding for storage.
2. Lubrication
The rear wheel axles require regular lubrication.
- Apply a small amount of petroleum jelly or light grease to the rear wheel axles periodically.
3. Battery Charging After Use
To charge the battery after use:
- Disconnect the battery by lifting the caddy's handle.
- The battery can be charged either while still on the caddy or removed.
- Plug the charger's AC lead into a power outlet (green LED illuminates).
- Connect the charger output to the battery's charging port (red LED illuminates).
