Operating Instructions

Preparing Your Pet

Acclimating your pet to the Dremel PawControl is crucial for a stress-free grooming experience. Begin by allowing your pet to become familiar with the tool's sound and vibration. Turn on the tool and hold it near your pet, offering praise and treats. Gradually introduce the tool to their paw, allowing them to feel the vibration on their paw before beginning to trim their nails.

Nail Trimming Process

The Dremel PawControl features a variable speed slide switch with 4 adjustable speed settings (8000 RPM to 25000 RPM) for precise control based on your pet's size and nail thickness.

  1. Select a low speed setting initially, increasing as your pet becomes comfortable.
  2. Firmly support the toe and nail in one hand. Gently push the bottom of the paw pad to extend the nail slightly for easier grooming.
  3. Position the pet nail guard attachment over the nail. The 45-degree angle guides the nail for optimal trimming.
  4. Gently trim the tips of your pet's nail. Spend no more than 3 seconds on each nail to prevent heat buildup and allow the nails to cool.
  5. Repeat for all nails, providing praise and treats throughout the process.

Maintenance

Cleaning the Device

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity of your Dremel PawControl. After each use, remove the nail guard and any attached accessories. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe away nail dust and debris from the tool and accessories. Do not use water or liquid cleaners directly on the tool.

Accessory Replacement

Sanding accessories will wear down over time. Replace them when they become less effective to maintain efficient grooming. Refer to the "Attaching Accessories" section for instructions on changing accessories.

Storage

Store the Dremel PawControl and its accessories in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure the tool is fully charged before storing for extended periods to preserve battery health.

Troubleshooting

  • Tool not turning on: Ensure the battery is fully charged. If the issue persists, contact customer support.
  • Reduced grinding effectiveness: Replace worn-out sanding accessories. Ensure the accessory is securely attached.
  • Pet discomfort during grooming: Ensure your pet is properly acclimated to the tool. Use the lowest speed setting initially. Limit grinding time to 3 seconds per nail to prevent heat buildup.
