  • Multi-function Button: Used for pairing and switching between Auracast and Bluetooth Classic modes. Triple-click to switch modes.
  • Audio Input Port: Connects to your audio source using 3.5mm AUX, RCA, or Toslink Optical cables.

Setup

Follow these steps for initial setup of your HomeSpot BA210 v2:

  1. Connect Audio Source: Choose one of the provided audio cables (3.5mm AUX, RCA, or Toslink Optical) and connect it from your audio source (e.g., TV, game console, Blu-ray player) to the Audio Input port on the BA210 v2.
    • Note for TV Optical Output: If using the optical cable with your TV, ensure your TV's audio output format is set to PCM. Dolby/DTS formats are not supported.
  2. Connect Power: Connect the USB-C power cable to the USB-C Power Input port on the BA210 v2 and plug the other end into the UL Certified USB Power Adapter. Plug the adapter into a wall outlet. The device will power on automatically.
  3. Initial Mode: The device will typically start in the last used mode (Bluetooth Classic or Auracast).

Operating Modes

The HomeSpot BA210 v2 supports two primary operating modes: Bluetooth A2DP Music Streaming and Auracast Broadcast Audio.

Switching Modes:

Triple-click the rear multi-function button to switch between standard Bluetooth A2DP Music Streaming mode and Auracast mode.

1. Bluetooth A2DP Music Streaming Mode:

In this mode, the BA210 v2 functions as a traditional Bluetooth audio transmitter, allowing you to pair it with one or two Bluetooth headphones or speakers for private listening.

  • Pairing: In Bluetooth A2DP mode, press and hold the multi-function button until the LED indicator flashes, indicating pairing mode. Enable Bluetooth on your receiving device (headphones/speaker) and select 'HomeSpot BA210' from the list of available devices.
  • Codec Support: Supports aptX Lossless, aptX HD, and other standard Bluetooth audio codecs for high-fidelity sound.

2. Auracast Broadcast Audio Mode:

Auracast is a new standard that allows broadcasting audio to an unlimited number of compatible devices simultaneously. This is ideal for shared listening experiences or assistive listening.

  • Auracast Sub-modes:
    • HQ Mode (High Quality): Optimized for high-fidelity audio broadcasting.
    • SQ Mode (Sound Quality / Hearing Aid Compatibility): Designed for compatibility with hearing aids and other assistive listening devices.
  • Connecting to Auracast: Ensure your receiving device (e.g., Auracast-compatible headphones, hearing aids) is in Auracast listening mode. The BA210 v2 will broadcast its audio.
  • QK CastTool: For advanced configuration of Auracast broadcast parameters, such as modifying the broadcast name or fine-tuning audio volume for hearing aid users, use the QK CastTool desktop application.
