2. Safety Information

Camera Components:

  • Main Lens: Captures high-resolution images and videos.

5. Setup

5.1 Battery and Memory Card Installation

  1. Charge Battery: Although the camera has a solar panel, it is recommended to fully charge the internal 5000mAh rechargeable battery using the provided USB cable before first use. Connect the camera to a USB power adapter (not included) or a computer.
  2. Insert Memory Card: Locate the SD card slot on the side or bottom of the camera. Insert the 64GB Micro Memory Card with the gold contacts facing the correct direction until it clicks into place. Ensure the camera is powered off before inserting or removing the card.

5.2 Mounting the Camera

The FKPCAM FK40 is designed for tree mounting or other outdoor structures. Choose a location that provides a clear view of the area you wish to monitor and allows the solar panel to receive ample sunlight.

  1. Select Location: Identify a sturdy tree or post. Consider the angle and height to capture the desired field of view.
  2. Attach Mounting Strap: Thread the provided mounting strap through the slots on the back of the camera. Securely fasten the camera to the tree or post.
  3. Adjust Solar Panel: Position the solar panel to face the direction that receives the most direct sunlight throughout the day. The panel is adjustable to optimize charging.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Powering On/Off

  • To power on, slide the power switch to the "ON" position. The display screen will light up.
  • To power off, slide the power switch to the "OFF" position.

6.2 Menu Navigation and Settings

Press the MENU button to enter the settings menu. Use the UP/DOWN arrow buttons to navigate through options and OK to confirm selections. Press MENU again to exit the menu.

  • Mode: Select Photo, Video, or Photo+Video.
  • Photo Resolution: Set image quality (e.g., 64MP, 30MP, 20MP).
  • Video Resolution: Set video quality (e.g., 4K, 2.7K, 1080P).
  • PIR Sensitivity: Adjust motion sensor sensitivity (High, Medium, Low) based on environment.
  • Trigger Interval: Set the delay between consecutive triggers.
  • Time Stamp: Enable/disable date and time display on photos/videos.
  • Format SD Card: Format the memory card before first use or if experiencing issues. This will erase all data.

6.3 Playback and Data Transfer

  • Playback: Press the PLAY button to enter playback mode. Use UP/DOWN to browse photos/videos. Press OK to view or play.
  • Data Transfer: Connect the camera to a computer using the USB cable. The camera will appear as a removable disk, allowing you to copy files. Alternatively, remove the Micro Memory Card and insert it into a card reader for faster transfer.
  • Wireless Connectivity: The camera supports Bluetooth connectivity. Refer to the specific app instructions (if applicable) for connecting to your phone to view and manage files wirelessly.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera body. For the lens and solar panel, use a lens cleaning cloth to avoid scratches. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Care: While the solar panel provides continuous charging, it's good practice to periodically check the battery level, especially during prolonged periods of low sunlight. Fully charge the battery before long-term storage.
