1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and effective use of your REPTITRIP Dual Reptile Light Fixture, Model LFD02. This fixture is designed to provide essential heat and UVB lighting for various reptiles, enhancing their health and well-being in terrarium environments.

2. Important Safety Instructions

  • Read all instructions before use.
  • Ensure the power supply voltage matches the fixture's requirements (100-120 Volts, 50 Hertz).
  • Do not exceed the maximum wattage of 160W per socket.
  • This product is for indoor, dry use only. Avoid contact with water or high humidity.

4. Setup Instructions

4.1 Bulb Installation

  1. Ensure the fixture is unplugged from the power source.
  2. Carefully screw the desired E26 base reptile heat or UVB bulbs into each socket. Do not overtighten.
  3. Ensure each bulb's wattage does not exceed 160W.

4.2 Placement and Mounting

The fixture can be placed directly on a screen top or hung using the integrated hook.

  • On Screen Top: Place the fixture securely on the terrarium's screen top, ensuring it is stable and cannot be easily dislodged.
  • Hanging: Use the integrated hook to suspend the fixture above the terrarium. Ensure the hanging mechanism is robust enough to support the fixture's weight and is positioned at an appropriate distance from the reptile to prevent burns.

5. Operating Instructions

The REPTITRIP Dual Reptile Light Fixture features two independent switches on its power cord, allowing separate control of each bulb.

  1. Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet.
  2. Use the individual ON/OFF switches to control each bulb independently. This allows for flexible lighting and heating schedules, such as operating a heat lamp and a UVB lamp as needed.

5.1 High-Temperature Warning Label

The fixture is equipped with a triangular warning label that turns red if the surface temperature exceeds 113°F (45°C). This serves as a visual indicator of high temperature and can also help verify if a ceramic heat lamp is functioning correctly.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

  • Always unplug the fixture and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Wipe the exterior of the fixture with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the fixture in water.
  • The lampshade can be removed for easier cleaning of the interior reflective surface.

6.2 Bulb Replacement

  • Ensure the fixture is unplugged and bulbs are cool before attempting replacement.
  • Unscrew the old bulb and screw in the new E26 base reptile bulb, ensuring it does not exceed 160W.

7. Troubleshooting
