2. Safety Information

4. Product Overview
The LIJIANI SH-01 radio is a compact device featuring a digital display and intuitive controls. It supports FM, AM, and Shortwave (SW) bands.

5. Setup
5.1 Battery Installation
The LIJIANI SH-01 radio operates on 2 AA batteries (not included). For optimal performance, use 1.5V alkaline batteries.
- Open the battery compartment cover located on the back of the radio.
- Insert two AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Important Battery Information:
- 1.5V alkaline batteries are recommended. The radio's power indicator will show full power (4 cells) with new 1.5V batteries.
- Avoid using 1.2V rechargeable batteries, as they may show reduced power (2 cells) and stop working prematurely.
- Inferior quality batteries may not provide sufficient power and can lead to erratic operation or premature shutdown.
- When the battery voltage drops to approximately 1.1V, the radio will cease to function correctly. Replace batteries promptly when the low battery indicator appears.
6. Basic Operation
6.1 Power On/Off
To turn the radio on or off, press and hold the POWER button (usually marked with a power symbol) located on the front panel.

6.2 Band Selection (FM/AM/SW)
After powering on, press the WB/FM/AM button to cycle through the available frequency bands: Weather Band (WB), FM, AM, and Shortwave (SW).

6.3 Automatic Station Search
To automatically scan and save available stations:
- Select your desired band (FM, AM, or SW).
- Press and hold the SCAN/SET button. The radio will automatically search for and store stations.
- Once scanning is complete, use the + or - buttons to navigate through the stored stations.
6.4 Manual Tuning
For precise tuning, use the rotary tuning wheel located on the side of the radio. Rotate the wheel up or down to adjust the frequency incrementally.
6.5 Saving and Recalling Favorite Stations
The radio allows you to save up to 3 favorite stations for quick access:
- Tune to the desired station using either automatic scan or manual tuning.
- Press and hold one of the preset buttons (1, 2, or 3) until the display confirms the station is saved.
- To recall a saved station, simply short press the corresponding preset button (1, 2, or 3).
6.6 Volume Control
Adjust the volume using the rotary volume wheel, typically located on the side of the radio.
6.7 Key Backlight
The radio features an orange backlight for the LCD display and buttons, making it easy to operate in the dark. The backlight activates automatically when a button is pressed and typically turns off after a few seconds to conserve battery life.

6.8 Headphone Use
For private listening, connect standard 3.5mm headphones to the headphone jack on the radio. The radio will automatically switch audio output to the headphones.

7. Advanced Features
7.1 Setting the Clock
The clock can only be set when the radio is powered off.
- Ensure the radio is turned off.
- Press and hold the TIME SET button. The hour display will start flashing.
- Use the + or - buttons to adjust the hour.
- Press the TIME SET button again to switch to minute adjustment.
- Use the + or - buttons to adjust the minutes.
- Press TIME SET once more to confirm and exit clock setting mode.
7.2 Alarm Clock Function
The radio includes an alarm clock feature.
- To set the alarm, ensure the radio is turned off.
- Press and hold the ALARM button (often combined with the sleep timer icon). The alarm time display will flash.
- Use the + or - buttons to set the desired alarm hour.
- Press the ALARM button again to set the minutes.
- Press the ALARM button once more to confirm. You may also be prompted to select an alarm sound or radio station.
- To turn the alarm on or off, short press the ALARM button when the radio is off. An alarm icon will appear/disappear on the display.

7.3 Sleep Timer Function
The sleep timer allows the radio to play for a set duration before automatically turning off.
- To activate the sleep timer, press and hold the SLEEP TIMER button (often combined with the alarm icon).
- Short press the SLEEP TIMER button repeatedly to cycle through available sleep durations (e.g., 90, 60, 40, 20, 10 minutes, or OFF).
- The selected duration will be displayed, and the radio will automatically turn off after that time.
8. Maintenance
8.1 Battery Care
- Always remove batteries if the radio will not be used for an extended period (e.g., several weeks or months) to prevent battery leakage, which can damage the device.
- Dispose of used batteries responsibly according to local regulations.
8.2 Cleaning
- Wipe the radio's exterior with a soft, dry cloth.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or strong chemicals, as these can damage the finish.
9. Troubleshooting
9.1 No Power / Radio Not Turning On
- Check if the batteries are inserted correctly with the correct polarity.
- Replace old or depleted batteries with fresh 1.5V alkaline AA batteries.
- Ensure the battery compartment cover is securely closed.
9.2 Poor Reception / Static
- Extend the telescopic antenna fully for FM and SW reception.
- Reposition the radio to a different location, away from electronic devices that may cause interference.
- For AM reception, try rotating the radio to find the best signal, as the internal antenna is directional.
- In areas with weak signals, reception quality may naturally be lower.
9.3 Display is Faint or Unresponsive
- This often indicates low battery power. Replace the batteries.
