Setup

Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge your ECOXGEAR Defender speaker using the provided AC Power Adapter. Connect the adapter to the speaker's charging port and plug it into a standard wall outlet. The charging time is approximately 6 hours.

Powering On/Off

Press and hold the Power button located on the top panel of the speaker to turn it on or off.

Bluetooth Pairing

1. Ensure the speaker is powered on and in Bluetooth pairing mode (indicated by a flashing Bluetooth icon).
2. On your smartphone or tablet, navigate to the Bluetooth settings.
3. Select "ECOXGEAR Defender" from the list of available devices.
4. Once connected, the Bluetooth icon will become solid.

EcoCast Connection (Multiple Speakers)

To connect multiple EcoCast enabled speakers:

1. Connect your primary speaker to your device via Bluetooth.
2. Power on the secondary EcoCast speaker(s).
3. On the primary speaker, press the EcoCast button.
4. On the secondary speaker(s), press the EcoCast button. The speakers will automatically connect.

Operating Instructions

Audio Playback

• Play/Pause: Press the Play/Pause button.
• Volume Control: Use the Volume + and Volume - buttons.
• Track Navigation: Press and hold Volume + for next track, Volume - for previous track.

Equalizer Settings (EcoDSP)

Press the EQ button to cycle through the 3 pre-set equalizer modes: Maximum Bass, Warmer Indoor Profile, and High Frequency Profile.

LED Party Lights

Press the Light button to cycle through various LED light patterns and colors. Hold the button to turn the lights off.

Speakerphone Function

When connected via Bluetooth, incoming calls can be answered or ended using the Phone button. Use the built-in microphone for hands-free communication.

External Microphone (Sold Separately)

Connect an external dynamic microphone to the dedicated microphone jack. Adjust microphone volume using the specific controls.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Wipe the speaker with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
• Waterproof Seal: Ensure all port covers are securely closed before exposing the speaker to water.

• Battery Care: For optimal battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Charge regularly.

Troubleshooting

• No Power: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect to AC power.
• No Bluetooth Connection: Make sure the speaker is in pairing mode. Check your device's Bluetooth settings. Try forgetting the device and re-pairing.
• Poor Sound Quality: Check the volume levels on both the speaker and your connected device. Adjust EQ settings. Ensure no obstructions are blocking the speakers.
• EcoCast Issues: Ensure all speakers are EcoCast enabled and within range. Follow the EcoCast connection steps carefully.
