Customizing Settings
Advanced settings can be adjusted by connecting the device to a computer and modifying the configuration file.
- Connect the recorder to your computer.
- Open the removable disk associated with the recorder.
- Locate and open the text file named "MRECSET" (or similar configuration file).
- Edit the values within this file to customize the following:
- VOR Sensitivity (1-7): Adjust the voice activation threshold. A higher number means greater sensitivity.
- Timestamp: Set the correct time according to your time zone for accurate file timestamps.
- Bit Rate: Select the appropriate bit value for desired sound quality. Higher bit rates result in better quality but larger file sizes.
- Audio Segment: Define the duration for which audio files are segmented (e.g., 10-240 minutes).
- Save the changes to the MRECSET file and safely eject the device from your computer.

This image provides a visual guide for customizing settings. It shows a computer screen with instructions: Step 1, find the removable disk "KL160"; Step 2, open the text file "MRECSET"; and Step 3, change the values within the file to adjust settings such as VOR sensitivity, bit rate, and recording file segmentation.
