1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the VEVOR Commercial Food Warmer, Model M-100. This electric buffet warmer is designed to efficiently keep food warm and ready-to-serve in various commercial settings such as parties, catering events, and restaurants. Its robust stainless steel construction ensures durability and ease of maintenance, while its versatile design allows for both wet and dry use.

This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your food warmer. Please read it thoroughly before initial use and retain it for future reference.

2. Important Safety Instructions

To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, always follow these basic safety precautions:

  • Read all instructions before using the appliance.
  • Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
  • To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or appliance in water or other liquid.
  • Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
  • Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
  • The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
  • Do not use outdoors.
  • Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
  • Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
  • Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
  • Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to "off", then remove plug from wall outlet.
  • Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
  • Ensure the appliance is placed on a stable, level, and heat-resistant surface.
  • Dry Burning Protection: This unit features an anti-dry-burning function that automatically stops heating if the temperature exceeds 248°F (120°C) due to insufficient water. If this occurs, all indicator lights will turn off. Add water and turn off the machine. After a few minutes, plug it back in to resume operation.

3. Product Overview

3.1 Components and Features

  • Stainless Steel Body: Constructed from robust stainless steel with a 0.03" (0.8 mm) thick wall for durability and easy cleaning.
  • 24 QT Water Well: Large capacity well suitable for various food pans.
  • 1200W Heating Tube: Powerful heating element for rapid and consistent warming.
  • Temperature Control Dial: Adjustable temperature range from 86°F - 185°F (30°C - 85°C).
  • Indicator Lights: "Standby" (yellow) and "Heating" (red) indicators for operational status.
  • Water Level Markers: Internal markings for easy water level maintenance.
  • Drain Valve: Convenient valve for draining water after use.

4. Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the food warmer and all accessories from the packaging. Inspect for any damage.
  2. Placement: Place the food warmer on a stable, level, and heat-resistant surface. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the unit. Do not place it directly against a wall or other heat-sensitive materials.
  3. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, clean the water well and any included pans/ladles with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
  4. Wet Use Preparation (Bain Marie):
    • Ensure the drain valve is closed.
    • Fill the water well with water up to the "MAX" indicator line. Using warm water will reduce heating time.
    • Place your food pans into the water well.
  5. Dry Use Preparation:
    • For dry use, you can place food directly into the well or use appropriate dry-heat-safe pans. No water is required in the well for this mode.

5. Operating Instructions

  1. Connect Power: Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet. The yellow "Standby" indicator light will illuminate.
  2. Set Temperature: Turn the temperature control dial to your desired setting. The temperature range is 86°F - 185°F (30°C - 85°C). The red "Heating" indicator light will turn on, indicating the unit is heating.
  3. Preheating: Allow the unit to preheat for approximately 15-30 minutes, or until the desired temperature is reached. The heating light will cycle on and off as the unit maintains temperature.
  4. Add Food: Once preheated, place your prepared food pans into the water well (for wet use) or directly into the warmer (for dry use).
  5. Monitor Temperature: Periodically check the food temperature to ensure it remains at a safe and desirable level.
  6. Serving: Use the provided ladles or other appropriate serving utensils to serve food.
  7. Shut Down: When finished, turn the temperature control dial to the "OFF" position and unplug the unit from the power outlet. Allow the unit to cool completely before cleaning.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your food warmer.

  1. Disconnect Power: Always unplug the unit from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Drain Water (for wet use): Open the drain valve located on the side of the unit to empty the water well. Ensure all water is drained.
  3. Clean Interior and Exterior:
    • Wipe down the stainless steel exterior and interior well with a damp cloth and mild detergent.
    • For stubborn food residue, use a non-abrasive scrubber.
    • Rinse thoroughly with a clean, damp cloth to remove any soap residue.
    • Dry all surfaces completely to prevent water spots and corrosion.
  4. Clean Accessories: Wash food pans and ladles with warm, soapy water, rinse, and dry.
  5. Descaling (for wet use): Over time, mineral deposits may build up in the water well. Descale the unit periodically using a commercial descaling solution or a mixture of vinegar and water. Follow the descaling product's instructions, then rinse thoroughly.
  6. Storage: Store the food warmer in a clean, dry place when not in use.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your VEVOR Commercial Food Warmer, refer to the following table for common problems and solutions.

  • Not plugged in.
  • Power outlet malfunction.
  • Dry burning protection activated (for wet use).
  • Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet.
  • Test the outlet with another appliance.
  • If all lights are off, add water to the well, turn off the machine, wait a few minutes, then plug it back in to reset.
Food is not warm enough.
  • Temperature setting too low.
  • Insufficient preheating time.
  • Lid not used or ill-fitting.
  • Increase the temperature setting on the dial.
  • Allow sufficient time for the unit to preheat before adding food.
  • Ensure food pans have lids to retain heat.
Unit trips circuit breaker.
  • Overloaded circuit.
  • Internal fault.
  • Ensure the unit is on a dedicated circuit or one that can handle its 1200W power. Avoid using other high-wattage appliances on the same circuit.
  • If the problem persists, discontinue use and contact VEVOR customer support.
