2. Safety Instructions

4. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your Pro-Ject T1 EVO BT Turntable:

  1. Placement: Choose a stable, level surface away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and strong vibrations.
  2. Platter Installation: Carefully place the heavy, low-resonance glass platter onto the spindle. Ensure it sits flush.
  3. Belt Installation: Gently stretch the drive belt around the sub-platter and the motor pulley. Rotate the platter a few times manually to ensure the belt is correctly seated.
  4. Cartridge & Tonearm: The Ortofon OM10 cartridge is pre-adjusted. Ensure the tonearm is unlocked from its rest.
  5. Dust Cover: Attach the adjustable hinge dust cover to protect your turntable from dust.
  6. Connections:
    • Connect the high-quality phono/line RCA cable to your amplifier's phono input (for MM cartridges) or line input, depending on your setup and whether you use the internal preamp.
    • Connect the ground wire from the turntable to your amplifier's ground terminal.
    • Connect the power supply to the turntable and then to a wall outlet.

5. Operating Your Turntable

  1. Power On: Turn on the turntable using the power switch.
  2. Select Speed: Use the electronic speed change control to select 33 or 45 RPM, matching your record's speed.
  3. Place Record: Carefully place your vinyl record on the platter.
  4. Start Playback: Gently lift the tonearm using the cueing lever and position it over the desired track. Lower the cueing lever to drop the stylus onto the record. The turntable is fully automatic and can also be started with a dedicated start button, which will automatically move the tonearm and lower the stylus.
  5. Stop Playback: At the end of the record, the tonearm will automatically return to its rest. You can also manually lift the tonearm or press the stop button for automatic return.

6. Bluetooth Connectivity

The Pro-Ject T1 EVO BT features Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX HD for high-quality wireless audio streaming.

  1. Activate Bluetooth: Ensure your turntable is powered on. Locate the Bluetooth switch/button (refer to image in Setup section) and activate it. The indicator light should start blinking, indicating pairing mode.
  2. Pairing: On your Bluetooth-enabled device (e.g., wireless speakers, headphones), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices. Select "Pro-Ject T1 BT" (or similar) from the list.
  3. Connection Confirmation: Once successfully paired, the Bluetooth indicator light on the turntable will turn solid.
  4. Playback: Start playing a record, and the audio will stream wirelessly to your connected Bluetooth device.

7. Maintenance

  • Dust Cover: Keep the dust cover closed when not in use to protect the turntable from dust and debris. Clean the dust cover with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Stylus Cleaning: Regularly clean the stylus using a soft brush designed for stylus cleaning, brushing gently from back to front.
  • Record Cleaning: Use a carbon fiber brush or a record cleaning solution to keep your vinyl records free of dust and static, which can affect sound quality and stylus life.
