3. Setup Guide

3.1. Battery Installation

The Jopwkuin Temperature Detector requires two 1.5V AAA batteries (not included). Follow these steps to install the batteries:

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
  2. Slide the cover open in the direction indicated by the arrow.
  3. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -) as marked inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

3.2. Connecting a Thermocouple Probe

The device supports K and J type thermocouple probes. To connect a probe:

  1. Identify the K or J type thermocouple probe you intend to use.
  2. Locate the input sockets on the side of the temperature detector. These are typically marked with '+' and '-' or K/J type indicators.
  3. Carefully insert the probe's plug into the corresponding socket, ensuring a firm connection.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Powering On/Off

  • To power on the device, press the Power button (usually marked with a circle and vertical line).
  • To power off, press and hold the Power button for a few seconds until the display turns off. The device also features an automatic shutdown function after 10 minutes of inactivity to conserve battery life. This can typically be disabled or enabled via specific button combinations (refer to on-screen prompts if available).

4.2. Taking Measurements

  • Ensure a thermocouple probe is securely connected.
  • Place the tip of the probe into or onto the substance/area you wish to measure.
  • The temperature reading will be displayed on the screen. The sampling rate is approximately 1 time per second.

4.3. Data Locking (MAX/MIN/AVG/HOLD)

The device provides functions to capture and review specific data points:

  • Press the MAX button to display the maximum temperature recorded since the device was powered on or the function was reset.
  • Press the MIN button to display the minimum temperature recorded.
  • Press the HOLD button to freeze the current temperature reading on the display. Press again to release.
  • The average (AVG) value may be accessible through a combination of buttons or a dedicated button, depending on the model. Consult the on-screen interface for specific instructions.

4.4. Setting Alarm Thresholds

To set custom high and low temperature alarms:

  1. Access the alarm setting mode (typically by pressing a dedicated alarm button or a combination of buttons like SET or MODE).
  2. Use the navigation buttons (e.g., UP/DOWN or +/-) to adjust the upper limit (High Alarm) and lower limit (Low Alarm) values. Default values are 1300℃ for High Alarm and -200℃ for Low Alarm.
  3. Confirm your settings (often by pressing the SET or ENTER button).
  4. When the measured temperature exceeds the upper limit or falls below the lower limit, the screen's red backlight will activate as an alert.

4.5. Temperature Compensation (ADJ)

To adjust for minor temperature variances:

  1. Enter the ADJ temperature compensation mode (refer to the device's on-screen menu or specific button press sequence).
  2. Adjust the compensation value within the range of -9 to +9℃ to fine-tune readings.
  3. Save the setting.
