3. Setup and Installation
3.1. Pre-Installation
- Unpack the fixture and inspect for any damage.
- Ensure all necessary components are present (LED Fixture).
- Turn off power at the circuit breaker before beginning installation.
3.2. Mounting the Fixture
The SR8 fixture is designed for surface mounting. Refer to the dimensional drawing for precise measurements and mounting hole locations.

Figure 3.1: Dimensional drawing of the RAB SR8 fixture. This diagram illustrates the length (94.49 inches), width (2.36 inches), and height (2.79 inches) of the fixture, along with potential mounting points.
- Mark the desired mounting locations on the ceiling or wall, ensuring they align with the fixture's mounting points.
- Drill appropriate holes for mounting screws (not included).
- Secure the fixture to the mounting surface using suitable hardware.
3.3. Electrical Wiring
Connect the fixture to the electrical supply according to the wiring diagram below. Ensure all connections are secure and comply with local electrical codes.

Figure 3.2: Wiring diagram for the RAB SR8 LED Strip Fixture. This diagram shows the connections for Line (Black), Common (White), (+) DIMV (Purple), (-) DIMV (Pink), Vaux 12V (Red), and Ground (Ground) to the light fixture.
- Connect the black wire from the fixture to the LINE (hot) wire from the supply.
- Connect the white wire from the fixture to the COMMON (neutral) wire from the supply.
- Connect the green or bare copper wire from the fixture to the GROUND wire from the supply.
- For 0-10V dimming, connect the purple wire to (+) DIMV and the pink wire to (-) DIMV from the dimming control. If dimming is not used, cap these wires individually.
- Ensure all wire nuts or connectors are tightened securely.
4. Operating Instructions
The RAB SR8 fixture allows for field adjustment of both power output and color temperature to customize lighting performance.

Figure 4.1: Close-up view of the power (W) and color temperature (CCT) adjustment switches on the RAB SR8 fixture. This image shows the physical switches used to select desired wattage and Kelvin temperature settings.
4.1. Power Adjustment (Wattage)
The fixture includes a switch to select the desired wattage output. This allows for optimization of brightness and energy consumption.
- Locate the "Power (W)" switch on the fixture.
- Select one of the following settings: 40W, 50W, or 60W.
- Ensure power is disconnected before adjusting this switch.
4.2. Color Temperature Adjustment (CCT)
The fixture also features a switch to select the desired color temperature, allowing you to choose between different light appearances.
- Locate the "Color Temperature (CCT)" switch on the fixture.
- Select one of the following settings: 3500K (Neutral White), 4000K (Cool White), or 5000K (Daylight).
- Ensure power is disconnected before adjusting this switch.
4.3. Dimmable Functionality
The SR8 fixture supports 0-10V dimming. When connected to a compatible 0-10V dimmer, the light intensity can be adjusted from 100% down to 10% (or lower, depending on dimmer specifications).
- Ensure the fixture is correctly wired for 0-10V dimming as per Section 3.3.
- Use a compatible 0-10V dimmer switch (sold separately) to control the light output.
5. Maintenance
The RAB SR8 LED Strip Fixture requires minimal maintenance. Regular cleaning can help maintain optimal performance and appearance.
- Cleaning: Disconnect power before cleaning. Use a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth to wipe the exterior of the fixture. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- LEDs: The integrated LED light source is designed for long life and does not require replacement.
6. Troubleshooting
If the fixture is not operating as expected, refer to the following common issues and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Fixture does not light up. | No power supply; incorrect wiring; faulty switch. |
|
| Light output is too dim or too bright. | Incorrect power setting; dimmer malfunction. |
|
| Color temperature is not as expected. | Incorrect CCT setting. | Adjust the color temperature (CCT) switch on the fixture (refer to Section 4.2). |
