Key features of your Lum-Tec M90 include:

  • Durable Construction: 44mm forged 316L stainless steel case with black PVD hard coating and anti-fingerprint finish, offering 600 meters of water resistance.
  • Precision Movement: Swiss Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement with hacking and hand-winding features, adjusted in 6 positions for maximum accuracy.
  • Advanced Luminance: Bead blasted matte black PVD dial with MDV luminous Technology X1 Swiss 208LE, providing high luminosity in vintage patina radium color.
  • High-Tech Features: Domed sapphire crystal with military-grade double-sided AR coating, 120-click uni-directional luminous bezel, and Viton gaskets for enhanced durability.
  • Limited Edition: Part of a numbered series of only 300 worldwide, with two strap options (leather and rubber).

Setup

  1. Unboxing: Carefully remove the watch and its accessories from the packaging. Inspect for any visible damage.
  2. Initial Winding: As an automatic watch, the M90 is powered by the motion of your wrist. For initial use or after a period of inactivity, manually wind the watch by turning the crown clockwise approximately 30-40 times while it is in the closed position. This builds up a power reserve.
  3. Setting the Time:
    • Pull the crown out to the furthest position (position 3). The second hand will stop (hacking feature).
    • Turn the crown to set the hour and minute hands. Ensure you set the correct AM/PM for the date change.
    • Once set, push the crown back into the closed position (position 1).
  4. Setting the Date:
    • Pull the crown out to the middle position (position 2).
    • Turn the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise (depending on the movement) to adjust the date. Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this can damage the movement.
    • Once set, push the crown back into the closed position (position 1).
  5. Securing the Crown: For water resistance, ensure the screw-down crown is fully tightened after setting the time or date. Gently push the crown in and turn it clockwise until it is securely fastened against the case.

Operating Your Watch

The Lum-Tec M90 is designed for robust performance and ease of use.

  • Wearing the Watch: Wear the watch regularly to keep the automatic movement powered. If worn daily, manual winding should not be necessary after the initial setup.
  • Uni-directional Bezel: The 120-click uni-directional bezel can be used to measure elapsed time. Rotate the bezel counter-clockwise to align the triangle marker with the minute hand. As time passes, the minute hand will indicate the elapsed time against the bezel's markings. This is useful for timing dives or other activities.
  • Water Resistance (600 Meters / 2000 Feet): The M90 is highly water-resistant. Ensure the crown is fully screwed down before any exposure to water. While designed for diving, avoid operating the crown or pushers (if any) underwater. After exposure to saltwater, rinse the watch with fresh water and dry it thoroughly.
  • Luminosity: The MDV luminous Technology X1 Swiss 208LE on the dial and hands provides excellent visibility in low-light conditions. Exposure to light will charge the luminous material.

Maintenance and Care

Proper care will ensure the longevity and performance of your Lum-Tec M90 watch.

  • Cleaning: Wipe the watch case and crystal with a soft, lint-free cloth. For more thorough cleaning, especially after water exposure, use a mild soap solution and a soft brush, then rinse with fresh water and dry completely.
  • Strap Care:
    • Leather Straps: Avoid prolonged exposure to water, direct sunlight, and extreme temperatures. Clean with a damp cloth and allow to air dry. Condition periodically with a leather conditioner.
    • Rubber Straps: Can be cleaned with soap and water. They are more resistant to water and sweat but should still be rinsed after heavy use.
  • Storage: When not wearing the watch, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and strong magnetic fields. A watch winder can be used to keep the automatic movement running if the watch is not worn for extended periods.
  • Service: Automatic watches benefit from periodic servicing to maintain accuracy and water resistance. Lum-Tec offers lifetime free timing adjustment and seal cleaning for your M90. It is recommended to utilize this service every 3-5 years or if you notice significant changes in performance.
