Operating Instructions
Your Hunter ceiling fan is designed for ease of use with pull chain controls.
Fan Speed Control
The fan speed is controlled by one of the pull chains. Each pull cycles through the speeds:
- 1st Pull: High Speed
- 2nd Pull: Medium Speed
- 3rd Pull: Low Speed
- 4th Pull: Off
Light Control
The light kit is controlled by the other pull chain. Each pull will turn the light On or Off.
Reversible Motor Function
The fan features a reversible WhisperWind motor for year-round comfort. A switch on the motor housing allows you to change the direction of blade rotation.
- Summer Mode (Counter-clockwise): Pushes air down, creating a cooling breeze.
- Winter Mode (Clockwise): Draws air up, circulating warm air trapped near the ceiling.
To change direction, ensure the fan is off and the blades have stopped completely before flipping the switch.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your ceiling fan.
- Cleaning: Dust the fan blades and motor housing periodically with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Bulb Replacement: The fan uses four 4.7-watt energy-efficient LED bulbs with an E26 base. When replacing, ensure the power is off and allow bulbs to cool before handling.
- Tightening Fasteners: Periodically check all screws and fasteners for tightness. Vibration can cause them to loosen over time.
Troubleshooting
Before attempting any repairs, ensure the power is disconnected at the circuit breaker.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Fan does not start | No power to the fan; loose wire connections; motor switch in off position. | Check circuit breaker; verify all wire connections are secure; ensure pull chain is not in the "off" position. |
| Fan is noisy | Loose screws on motor housing or blade attachments; unbalanced blades. | Tighten all screws; ensure blades are properly installed and balanced. |
| Light kit does not work | Loose wire connection; faulty bulb; light pull chain in off position. | Check light kit wiring; replace bulbs; ensure light pull chain is in the "on" position. |
| Excessive wobbling | Loose mounting bracket; unbalanced blades; incorrect downrod installation. | Ensure mounting bracket is securely fastened; balance blades using a balancing kit (not included); verify downrod is installed correctly. |
