7. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter and their potential solutions.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Unit does not power on. | Loose power connection, blown fuse, vehicle battery issue. | Check all power wiring connections. Inspect the fuse on the power harness and replace if blown. Ensure vehicle battery is charged. |
| No sound or distorted audio. | Incorrect speaker wiring, volume too low, DSP settings misconfigured. | Verify speaker connections. Increase volume. Reset DSP settings to default or adjust EQ. |
| Bluetooth/CarPlay/Android Auto connection issues. | Incorrect pairing, software glitch, phone compatibility. | Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on both devices. Forget and re-pair the device. Restart both the head unit and the phone. Try a wired connection if wireless fails. |
| GPS signal is weak or inaccurate. | GPS antenna improperly placed or faulty. | Ensure the GPS antenna has a clear line of sight to the sky, away from metal obstructions. Check antenna connection. |
| Backup camera not displaying. | Incorrect wiring of reverse trigger or camera, faulty camera. | Verify the reverse trigger wire is correctly connected and receiving power when in reverse. Check camera video input connection. Test camera if possible. |
| Unit freezes or becomes unresponsive. | Software error, too many apps running, overheating. | Perform a soft reset (locate the RST button, usually a small pinhole, and press with a non-sharp object). Close unnecessary background applications. Ensure proper ventilation around the unit. |
