Setup

1. Battery Installation

The iG420 camera features a built-in lithium battery charged by the integrated solar panel. For extended operation or in low-light conditions, you may install 4 high-quality AA alkaline or rechargeable batteries (not included) as a backup power source.

  1. Open the camera's casing.
  2. Locate the battery compartment.
  3. Insert 4 AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment securely.

2. SD Card Preparation

A 32GB SD card is pre-installed. It is recommended to format the SD card directly on the camera before first use. If using an old SD card, format it to FAT32 on a computer first, then format it again on the camera.

  1. With the camera powered on, navigate to the "Format" option in the camera's menu.
  2. Confirm the formatting process. This will erase all data on the SD card.

3. Initial Power On and Basic Settings

  1. Switch the camera to "ON" mode. The LCD screen will activate.
  2. Set the current date and time in the camera's settings menu. This is crucial for accurate timestamps on your recordings.
  3. Adjust basic settings such as photo resolution (e.g., 48MP), video resolution (e.g., 4K), and capture mode (Photo, Video, or Photo+Video).

4. Mounting the Camera

The camera can be mounted using the included strap, or on a tripod/wall mount (accessories not included).

  1. Select a suitable location that provides a clear view of the target area and allows the solar panel to receive direct sunlight.
  2. Secure the camera to a tree or post using the provided mounting strap. Ensure the camera is stable and pointed correctly.
  3. Utilize the front-facing LCD screen to aim the camera precisely. The keypad will light up for easier operation in low light.

Operating Instructions

Camera Modes

The iG420 offers three primary capture modes:

Select your desired mode from the camera's menu.

Motion Detection and Triggering

The camera uses a Passive Infrared (PIR) sensor to detect movement. When the camera is in "ON" mode and the monitoring delay has not ended, a flashing red PIR indicator signifies the sensor is active.
