7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your ORICO B5pro SSD, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

ProblemSolution
Device not recognized.
  • Ensure the cable is securely connected to both the SSD and your device.
  • Try a different USB port on your device.
  • Test the SSD with a different cable or another computer/device to rule out cable or port issues.
  • Restart your computer/device.
Slow transfer speeds.
  • Ensure you are using a USB 3.0 (or higher) port on your device for optimal speeds. Older USB 2.0 ports will result in slower transfers.
  • Check if other applications or processes are heavily utilizing your system resources.
  • Verify the cable is not damaged.
Cannot write files to the SSD.
  • Check if the SSD is full. Delete unnecessary files or transfer them to another location.
  • Verify file system compatibility. If the SSD is formatted as NTFS and you are using macOS without an NTFS driver, you may only have read access. Consider reformatting to exFAT for cross-platform compatibility (this will erase all data).
  • Ensure you have appropriate permissions to write to the drive.
