5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning the Device

Use a soft, lint-free cloth to gently wipe the screen and body of the device. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, which can damage the screen or finish.

5.2 Software Updates

Regularly check for and install software updates to ensure your device has the latest features, performance improvements, and security patches. Navigate to Settings > Firmware Update to check for updates.

5.3 Battery Care

To prolong battery life, avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures. It is recommended to keep the battery charge between 20% and 80% for optimal long-term health. If storing the device for an extended period, charge it to about 50%.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 Device Not Turning On

Ensure the device is sufficiently charged. Connect it to a power source and allow it to charge for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power it on again. If the issue persists, try holding the power button for 10-15 seconds for a forced restart.

6.2 Screen Issues (Ghosting, Flickering)

E Ink displays may exhibit minor ghosting or flickering during refresh cycles. This is normal. If ghosting is excessive, adjust the refresh mode in the display settings. A full refresh can often clear persistent ghosting.

6.3 Connectivity Problems

If Wi-Fi or Bluetooth is not connecting, ensure the feature is enabled in settings. Try restarting the device and your router/Bluetooth accessory. For Wi-Fi, forget the network and reconnect. For Bluetooth, unpair and re-pair the device.

6.4 Stylus Not Responding

Check if the stylus tip is worn out and needs replacement. Ensure the stylus is properly paired if it's a Bluetooth model (though BOOX styluses are typically passive). If the screen is unresponsive to the stylus, try restarting the device.
