2. Safety Information
- Power Source: Use only the specified AC adapter or 6 'C' batteries. Ensure the voltage matches the requirements of the unit.
- Water and Moisture: Do not expose the unit to rain, moisture, or dripping/splashing liquids. Do not place objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on the unit.
- Ventilation: Do not block any ventilation openings. Ensure adequate space around the unit for proper airflow.

5. Setup
5.1 Powering the Unit
Your Memorex MX-BCD100 can be powered by either AC power or batteries.
AC Power Operation
- Ensure the unit's power switch is in the OFF position.
- Insert the small end of the AC power adapter into the AC power input jack on the rear of the unit.
- Plug the other end of the AC power adapter into a standard wall outlet.
Battery Operation
For portable use, the unit requires 6 'C' size batteries (not included).
- Ensure the unit's power switch is in the OFF position.
- Open the battery compartment cover located on the rear of the unit.
- Insert 6 'C' batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
Note: When the unit is connected to AC power, battery power is automatically disconnected. Remove batteries if the unit will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 CD Playback

- Lift the CD compartment door located on the top of the unit.
- Place a CD (or CD-R/RW) onto the center spindle with the label side facing up.
- Gently close the CD compartment door.
- Set the Function Selector to the 'CD' position.
- Press the PLAY/PAUSE (►/‖) button to begin playback. The track number will appear on the LED display.
- To pause playback, press PLAY/PAUSE (►/‖) again. Press it once more to resume.
- To stop playback, press the STOP (■) button.
- To skip to the next track, press the SKIP/SEARCH (▶▶) button.
- To go back to the beginning of the current track or to the previous track, press the SKIP/SEARCH (◀◀) button.
- To fast forward or rewind within a track, press and hold the SKIP/SEARCH (▶▶ or ◀◀) button.
- Adjust the volume using the VOL knob and bass using the BASS knob.
Repeat Function
- During CD playback, press the RPT button once to repeat the current track (RPT indicator will flash).
- Press the RPT button a second time to repeat all tracks on the CD (RPT indicator will be solid).
- Press the RPT button a third time to cancel the repeat function.
Program Playback
You can program up to 20 tracks to play in a specific order.
- In STOP mode, press the PROG button. The LED display will show '01' and 'PROG' will flash.
- Use the SKIP/SEARCH (◀◀/▶▶) buttons to select the first track you wish to program.
- Press the PROG button again to confirm the selection. The display will show '02'.
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 to add more tracks to your program list.
- After programming all desired tracks, press the PLAY/PAUSE (►/‖) button to start programmed playback.
- To clear the program, press the STOP (■) button twice.
6.2 AM/FM Radio Operation
- Set the Function Selector to 'AM' or 'FM' as desired.
- Extend the telescopic antenna for optimal FM reception. For AM reception, rotate the unit for best signal.
- Rotate the Tuning Knob to select your desired radio station.
- Adjust the volume using the VOL knob.
6.3 Auxiliary Input (AUX)
Connect an external audio device (e.g., smartphone, MP3 player) to play audio through the MX-BCD100 speakers.
- Connect one end of a 3.5mm audio cable (not included) to the headphone jack or audio output of your external device.
- Connect the other end of the 3.5mm audio cable to the AUX Input Jack on the MX-BCD100.
- Set the Function Selector to 'AUX'.
- Start playback on your external device.
- Adjust the volume using the VOL knob on the MX-BCD100 and/or your external device.
7. Maintenance
7.1 Cleaning the Unit
- Always unplug the unit from the power source before cleaning.
- Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior surfaces. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents.
- For the CD lens, use a specialized CD lens cleaner disc or a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for optical lenses.
7.2 Battery Replacement
When operating on batteries, if the sound becomes distorted or the unit stops functioning, it is time to replace the batteries. Follow the steps in Section 5.1 'Battery Operation' to replace all 6 'C' batteries with new ones.
