Setup and Installation

The MZGDONGF Carbon Rear Car Spoiler is designed for easy, damage-free installation without the need for drilling. Follow these steps carefully for optimal adhesion and fit.

Preparation:

  1. Clean the Surface: Thoroughly clean the trunk surface where the spoiler will be mounted. Use a mild detergent and water, then wipe with rubbing alcohol to remove any wax, grease, or residue. Ensure the surface is completely dry.
  2. Test Fit: Carefully place the spoiler on the trunk lid without removing the tape backing. This allows you to determine the exact positioning and alignment. Mark the position with painter's tape if necessary.

Installation Steps:

  1. Prepare Adhesive Tape: The spoiler comes with pre-applied automotive-grade double-sided tape. For best results, you may gently warm the tape with a hairdryer (on low setting) for a few seconds to increase its tackiness, especially in colder environments.
  2. Peel Backing: Carefully peel off a small section of the red protective backing from both ends of the double-sided tape, leaving the majority of the backing intact. This allows for easier alignment.
  3. Align and Press: Align the spoiler precisely with your marked positions. Once aligned, firmly press down on the spoiler, starting from the center and working your way outwards, gradually peeling off the remaining tape backing as you go. Apply consistent pressure across the entire length of the spoiler to ensure full contact.
  4. Secure Adhesion: After the spoiler is in place, apply firm, even pressure along the entire length of the spoiler for several minutes. This helps to create a strong bond between the tape and the vehicle surface.

Important Note: Do not allow the spoiler to come into contact with water (rain, car wash, etc.) for at least 72 hours (3 days) after installation. This curing period is essential for the adhesive to achieve its maximum bonding strength.

Operating Principles and Benefits

While a car spoiler does not require active "operation" by the user, its design provides continuous benefits during vehicle movement:

Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and appearance of your carbon fiber spoiler, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:

Troubleshooting

Most issues related to the spoiler are installation-dependent. Consider the following if you encounter problems:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Spoiler not adhering properly / Lifting edges
  • Surface not clean or dry enough during installation.
  • Insufficient pressure applied during installation.
  • Installation in cold temperatures without warming adhesive.
  • Contact with water too soon after installation.
  • Ensure surface is meticulously clean and dry.
  • Apply firm, consistent pressure for an extended period.
  • Warm the adhesive tape and installation surface if temperatures are low.
  • Ensure 72-hour dry period after installation. If lifting persists, professional re-application or new adhesive may be required.
Misalignment after installationIncorrect initial positioning. If adhesive has not fully cured, it might be possible to carefully re-position. If fully cured, removal may damage paint or spoiler. Professional assistance recommended.
