1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the SIFENE KC101 Single Serve Coffee Maker. This versatile appliance is designed to provide a convenient brewing experience for coffee pods, ground coffee, and loose leaf tea. Please read this manual thoroughly before use to ensure proper operation and maintenance.

2. Important Safety Information

To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, always follow these basic safety precautions:

• Read all instructions before operating the appliance.
• Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
• To protect against electric shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or the appliance in water or other liquid.
• Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
• Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
• Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
• The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.

1. Tea Baskets / Capsule Baskets / Coffee Powder Baskets: Interchangeable holders for different beverage types.
2. Top Cap: Covers the brewing chamber.
3. Control Panel: Features power button and brew size selections (6oz, 8oz, 10oz).
4. Removable Water Tank: 50 fl oz (1.5 L) capacity for multiple brews.

4. Initial Setup

Before first use, follow these steps:

1. Unpack: Carefully remove all packaging materials and accessories.
2. Clean: Wash the removable water tank, drip tray, and all filter baskets with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
3. Place: Position the coffee maker on a stable, flat surface near an electrical outlet.
4. Fill Water Tank: Remove the water tank from the back of the unit. Fill it with fresh, cold water up to the MAX line (50 fl oz / 1.5 L). Replace the tank securely.
5. First Clean Cycle: Plug the appliance into a grounded outlet. Place an empty mug on the drip tray. Do not add any coffee or tea. Press the power button, then select the 10oz brew size. Allow the machine to complete a full cycle to flush out any manufacturing residue. Repeat this process 2-3 times.

5. Operating Instructions

The SIFENE KC101 offers three brewing options: coffee pods, ground coffee, and loose leaf tea.

General Brewing Steps:

1. Fill Water Tank: Ensure the removable water tank is filled with fresh, cold water between the MIN and MAX lines.
2. Prepare Brewing Chamber: Open the top cap of the coffee maker.
3. Insert Filter Basket: Choose the appropriate filter basket for your desired beverage (capsule, ground coffee, or tea).
• For Coffee Pods: Place a standard coffee capsule into the capsule basket.
• For Ground Coffee: Fill the ground coffee basket with your preferred ground coffee. Do not overfill.
• For Loose Leaf Tea: Fill the tea basket with loose leaf tea.
4. Close Top Cap: Close the top cap firmly until it clicks into place.
5. Place Mug: Place your mug on the drip tray. For taller mugs, remove the drip tray.
6. Power On & Select Brew Size: Press the power button on the control panel. Then, select your desired brew size (6oz, 8oz, or 10oz) by touching the corresponding icon.
7. Brewing: The machine will begin brewing. Brewing times are approximately 60-100 seconds depending on the selected size.
8. Completion: The machine will alert you with three beeps when brewing is complete.

Compatibility:

This coffee maker is compatible with most standard K-pod capsules. It is not compatible with Nespresso or Dolce Gusto capsules.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity of your coffee maker.

Daily Cleaning:

• Drip Tray: Remove and empty the drip tray after each use. Wash with warm, soapy water and rinse.
• Filter Baskets: Remove the used filter basket. Discard contents and wash the basket with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
• Water Tank: Empty any remaining water from the tank. Rinse with fresh water.
• Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.

All removable parts are dishwasher safe for convenience.

Descaling (Monthly or as needed):

Mineral deposits can build up over time, affecting performance. Descale your machine regularly:

1. Fill the water tank with a mixture of one part white vinegar and two parts water.
2. Place a large empty mug on the drip tray.
3. Run a 10oz brew cycle without any coffee or tea.
4. Repeat the cycle until the water tank is empty.
5. Rinse the water tank and fill it with fresh water.
6. Run 2-3 full water cycles to flush out any remaining vinegar solution.
