6. Operating Modes

The SOOMFON adapter supports three operating modes: TX (Transmitter), RX (Receiver), and Bypass. Use the mode button to switch between them.

6.1. TX Mode (Transmitter)

In TX mode, the adapter transmits audio from a non-Bluetooth source (e.g., TV, PC) to Bluetooth-enabled devices (e.g., headphones, speakers).

  • Connect the adapter to your audio source (TV, PC) using an optical, AUX, or RCA cable.
  • Set the adapter to TX mode. The LCD screen will indicate 'TX'.
  • The adapter will automatically enter pairing mode.

6.2. RX Mode (Receiver)

In RX mode, the adapter receives Bluetooth audio from your smartphone, tablet, or computer and outputs it to a non-Bluetooth audio system (e.g., wired speakers, home stereo).

  • Connect the adapter to your audio output device (speakers, stereo) using an AUX or RCA cable.
  • Set the adapter to RX mode. The LCD screen will indicate 'RX'.
  • The adapter will automatically enter pairing mode.

6.3. Bypass Mode

Bypass mode allows audio to pass through the adapter without Bluetooth processing. This is useful if you want to switch between wired and wireless audio without re-plugging cables.

  • Connect your audio source to the adapter's input and your audio output device to the adapter's output.
  • Set the adapter to Bypass mode. The LCD screen will indicate 'BYPASS'.

7. Pairing Instructions

To pair the SOOMFON adapter with your Bluetooth device:

  2. Enable Bluetooth on your device (e.g., headphones, smartphone) and put it into pairing mode.
  3. On the SOOMFON adapter's LCD screen, you will see a list of available Bluetooth devices. Use the rotary knob to navigate and select your device.
  4. Press the rotary knob to confirm the selection and initiate pairing.
  5. Once connected, the LCD screen will display the connected device's name.

The device supports automatic reconnection after the first successful pairing.

8. Dual Connection

The SOOMFON adapter allows you to connect two Bluetooth devices simultaneously in TX mode (e.g., two pairs of headphones) or two audio sources in RX mode (though only one can play at a time).

8.1. Connecting a Second Device (TX Mode)

  1. Ensure the first device is successfully paired and connected.
  2. Put the second Bluetooth device into pairing mode.

12. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your SOOMFON Bluetooth adapter, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible Cause / Solution
Audio delay/lag (especially with video)Ensure both the adapter (in TX mode) and your receiving Bluetooth device (headphones/speaker) support aptX Low Latency (aptX-LL). If only one supports it, or neither, a delay may occur. Professional music equipment may also experience sound delay.
Cannot pair with a deviceEnsure the adapter is in the correct mode (TX/RX) and pairing mode. Make sure your target Bluetooth device is also in pairing mode and within range. Try restarting both devices.
No sound output/inputCheck all audio cable connections (Optical, AUX, RCA) are secure and correctly plugged into the right ports. Verify the adapter is in the correct operating mode (TX/RX/Bypass). Check volume levels on both the adapter and connected devices.
Device not responding / Screen frozenPerform a hard reset: Power off the device. Then, quickly power it on and off 6 times consecutively. This will reset the screen and pairing memory. Ensure you do not exceed 6 cycles.
Limited range / Signal dropsEnsure the antenna is properly attached and oriented. Reduce obstacles between the adapter and the connected Bluetooth device. Avoid placing the adapter near sources of strong electromagnetic interference (e.g., Wi-Fi routers, microwaves).
