3. Setup and Programming Instructions
Follow these steps to program your Avisontek remote to your Genie garage door opener. Ensure you are within 5 feet of your opener during programming.
Step 1: Put Opener into Programming Mode
For New Openers:
- Press and hold the program button on your garage door opener until the round LED turns blue, then release.
- The round LED will go out, and the long LED will begin flashing purple.
For Genie Openers and External Receivers Manufactured between 1995 to 2011:
- Press and release the Learn Code button once. The red LED will begin to flash.
Step 2: Program a Remote to Your Opener
Note: Once in programming mode, you have approximately 30 seconds to perform this step.
- While approximately 5 feet away from the opener, slowly press and release the desired button on your remote twice. The opener LEDs will flash and go off, indicating successful programming.
- Press and release the same remote button a third time. It is possible to press the remote button too quickly or lightly. If the LEDs do not turn off, press the remote button several more times to achieve confirmation.
Step 3: Lost or Stolen Remote / Erasing All Remotes
For New Openers:
- Press and hold the program button until the round LED turns blue, then release.
- Press and hold the top (▲) and bottom (▼) buttons of the remote until both LEDs flash blue and go off.
For Genie Openers and External Receivers Manufactured between 1995 to 2011:
- To erase all remote devices from all other types of Genie openers, press and hold the Learn Code button until the LED stops blinking.
Note: Clearing remote control memory from the power head will clear all pre-programmed remotes and keypads. Your opener will no longer receive a remote signal from any remote device, including a missing remote device.

4. Operating Instructions
Once programmed, your Avisontek remote is ready for use. Each of the three buttons on the remote can be programmed to operate a different garage door opener, allowing control of up to three separate doors.
- Opening/Closing a Garage Door: Press the programmed button corresponding to the desired garage door. The door will open or close.
- Stopping a Garage Door: Press the programmed button again while the door is in motion to stop it.
The remote features an ultra-long range, allowing operation from over 164 feet away, and utilizes rolling code security for enhanced protection.

5. Maintenance
Battery Replacement
The remote uses a 3V CR2032 lithium battery. When the remote's indicator light dims or fails to illuminate upon button press, it is time to replace the battery.
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote.
- Use a small screwdriver or coin to gently pry open the compartment cover.
- Remove the old CR2032 battery.
- Insert a new 3V CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
- Replace the compartment cover, ensuring it snaps securely into place.
Cleaning
Wipe the remote with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the remote's finish or internal components.
6. Troubleshooting
If your remote is not functioning as expected, consider the following:
- Remote not responding: Check the battery. Replace it if the indicator light does not illuminate or is dim.
- Garage door not opening/closing: Ensure the remote is properly programmed to your garage door opener. Refer to the "Setup and Programming Instructions" section.
- Limited range: Replace the battery. Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the garage door opener's antenna.
- Incompatible opener: Confirm your garage door opener is a Genie Intellicode model from 1997-present and does not use DIP switches.
