3. Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for the safe and efficient operation of your Empava gas cooktop. It is recommended that installation be performed by a qualified professional.

Unboxing and Initial Inspection:

Carefully unbox the cooktop and inspect for any damage. Ensure all components listed in the packing list are present. The cooktop comes with a pre-installed 110V power cord and LPG nozzles.

LPG/NG Conversion:

Your cooktop is designed to be convertible between Natural Gas (NG) and Liquid Propane Gas (LPG). If your home uses LPG, you will need to convert the cooktop using the included nozzles and gas regulator. This process involves replacing the orifices for each burner and adjusting the gas connector.

4. Operating Instructions

The Empava gas cooktop offers precise control for various cooking methods. Each burner is equipped with Ion Ignition Technology for easy startup.

Igniting a Burner:

  1. Ensure the gas supply is on.
  2. Push down and turn the corresponding control knob counter-clockwise to the 'High' flame setting.
  3. Hold the knob in this position for approximately 2 seconds to allow the igniter to spark and the flame to establish.
  4. Once the flame is lit, release the knob and adjust to your desired heat level.

Using Burners for Cooking:

Select the appropriate burner size for your cookware and cooking task. The 18,000-BTU triple ring burner is ideal for rapid boiling or stir-frying, while the 6,000-BTU auxiliary burner is perfect for simmering delicate sauces.

5. Maintenance

Cleaning the Cooktop:

  • Always ensure the cooktop and grates are completely cool before cleaning to prevent burns.
  • Remove the cast iron grates and burner caps. These are dishwasher safe for easy cleaning.
  • For the stainless steel surface, use a stainless steel cleaner or a solution of hot soapy water and a microfiber cloth. Clean in a circular motion to avoid streaks.
  • Wipe around the burner area carefully, avoiding the igniter spark.
  • Regular weekly cleaning helps prevent grime buildup.

If a control knob needs replacement, ensure the gas supply is turned off. Gently pull the old knob off. Align the D-shaped hole of the new knob with the metal shaft and push it on firmly.
