Important Safety Information

WARNING: Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety goggles, gloves, and hearing protection when operating the chainsaw. Keep hands and body clear of the chain when the tool is in operation. Read all safety warnings and instructions.

• Work Area Safety: Keep the work area clean and well-lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust.
• Electrical Safety: Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces. Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions.

  • Be aware of kickback. Kickback may occur when the nose or tip of the guide bar touches an object, or when the wood closes in and pinches the saw chain in the cut.
  • Only use the chainsaw for cutting wood. Do not use it for other purposes.

Setup

1. Battery Charging

Before first use, fully charge both lithium-ion batteries. Connect the charger to a standard power outlet and insert the battery. The indicator light on the charger will show the charging status. A full charge typically takes approximately two hours.

The 20V MAX 1.5Ah Lithium-Ion battery features fast charging and multiple protection circuits.

2. Chain and Guide Bar Installation (if not pre-installed)

Your chainsaw may come with the chain and guide bar pre-installed. If not, follow these steps:

1. Ensure the battery is removed from the chainsaw.
2. Loosen the side cover nuts using the provided wrench and remove the side cover.
3. Place the chain around the guide bar, ensuring the cutting teeth are facing the correct direction (refer to the arrow on the guide bar).
4. Fit the chain onto the sprocket and align the guide bar with its mounting studs.
5. Replace the side cover and hand-tighten the nuts.
6. Adjust chain tension: The chain should be snug against the guide bar but still able to be pulled freely by hand. Use the tensioning screw (if present) or slightly loosen/tighten the side cover nuts to adjust.
7. Fully tighten the side cover nuts.

3. Lubrication

Fill the provided lube bottle with appropriate chain oil (not included). Apply a small amount of oil to the chain and guide bar before each use to ensure smooth operation and extend chain life.

Operating Instructions

1. Pre-Operation Checklist

• Ensure the battery is fully charged and securely inserted.
• Check chain tension and ensure it is properly lubricated.
• Verify all nuts and bolts are tight.
• Wear all necessary PPE: safety goggles, gloves, and hearing protection.
• Clear the work area of any obstructions.

2. Starting the Chainsaw

To start the chainsaw, first press and hold the safety lock button, then squeeze the trigger switch. The chainsaw will begin to operate. Release the trigger to stop the chainsaw.

3. Cutting Techniques

• Hold the chainsaw firmly with both hands.
• Allow the chain to reach full speed before engaging with the material.
• Apply light, consistent pressure. Do not force the saw through the wood.
• For branches, cut from the top down to avoid pinching. For larger pieces, make a relief cut on the underside first.
• Be mindful of the cutting surface length (6 inches) and the total guide bar length (9 inches) to avoid over-stressing the tool.

Maintenance

1. Chain Sharpening
