3. Safety Information

Always prioritize safety when installing, operating, and maintaining your rooftop tent. Read all instructions carefully before use.

• Ensure your vehicle's roof rack system has an adequate dynamic and static load rating to support the tent and its occupants. Consult your vehicle and roof rack manufacturer's specifications.
• Properly secure the tent to the roof rack using all provided mounting hardware. Regularly check all bolts and connections for tightness, especially before and after long trips.
• Do not exceed the maximum occupancy or weight capacity of the tent (3 people, 330.69 lbs).
• Always use the telescopic ladder on stable, level ground. Ensure it is fully extended and securely hooked to the tent before climbing.
• Be aware of your surroundings when deploying or packing down the tent, especially in windy conditions.
• Do not operate the tent's gas struts or attempt to close the tent with people or objects inside.
• Avoid using open flames or heating devices inside the tent.
• In severe weather conditions (e.g., extreme winds, heavy snow), consider alternative shelter.

4. Setup Guide

Setting up your San Hima Hotham Lite Rooftop Tent is designed to be quick and effortless:

1. Position Vehicle: Park your vehicle on as level ground as possible. Engage the parking brake.
2. Unlock Latches: Locate the latches on the tent's hard shell. Unlock and release all latches.
3. Lift Tent: Gently push up on the tent's hard shell. The integrated gas struts will assist in lifting the tent to its fully open position.
4. Extend Ladder: Attach the telescopic ladder to one of the three designated mounting points on the tent base. Extend the ladder to the ground, ensuring each rung locks into place. Verify the ladder is stable before use.
5. Install Window Rods: Insert the two provided window rods into the grommets on the rain flies of the side windows to create awnings, improving airflow and rain protection.
6. Prepare Interior: Unfold the mattress if necessary. Connect the tri-color LED strip light to a compatible power source (e.g., power bank) and position it for desired illumination.

5. Operating the Tent

Sleeping Area:

6. Weather Protection

The Hotham Lite is built with AquaShield Tech, featuring 420D double ripstop Oxford fabric and 280GT poly-cotton, offering a 5,000mm waterproof rating and UV 50+ protection. The aluminum honeycomb panel and frame provide insulation in varying temperatures, and the 1.18 inch elevated base protects against water intrusion.

7. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Clean the tent fabric with mild soap and water. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Allow the tent to dry completely before packing away to prevent mold and mildew.
• Hardware: Periodically check all nuts, bolts, and mounting hardware for tightness. Tighten as needed. Lubricate zippers and moving parts with a silicone-based lubricant.
• Storage: When not in use, store the tent in a cool, dry place, ideally indoors, to prolong its lifespan. Ensure the tent is clean and dry before long-term storage.
• Mattress Care: The mattress can be spot cleaned. For best results, air out the mattress regularly to prevent moisture buildup.

8. Troubleshooting

• Tent not opening/closing smoothly: Check for obstructions or debris in the gas strut mechanism or along the tent's edges. Ensure all latches are fully disengaged.
• Water leakage: Verify that all zippers are fully closed and the rain flies are properly positioned. Inspect the fabric for any tears or punctures. Ensure the tent is pitched on level ground to allow for proper water runoff.
• Condensation inside tent: Utilize the side windows and ceiling vent for optimal airflow. The included anti-condensation mat helps reduce moisture buildup beneath the mattress.
• Ladder instability: Ensure the telescopic ladder is fully extended with all rungs locked. Place the ladder on firm, level ground.
