Observe the following safety precautions to prevent injury or damage to the device:

  • Do not attempt to open or modify the luminaire. There are no user-serviceable parts inside.
  • Use only the specified battery type (3x 1.5V LR03 AAA). Ensure correct polarity when inserting batteries.
  • Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.
  • Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period.
  • Dispose of used batteries according to local regulations.
  • The luminaire is rated IP54, meaning it is protected against dust ingress and splashing water from any direction. It is suitable for outdoor use but should not be submerged in water.

4. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to set up and install your luminaire:

  1. Insert Batteries:

Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the luminaire. Open the cover and insert the three 1.5V LR03 (AAA) batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment. Close the cover securely.

  2. Select Mounting Location:

Choose a suitable location for the luminaire. Consider areas where motion detection is desired, such as hallways, stairwells, or outdoor entryways. Ensure the surface is clean and dry for adhesive mounting.

  3. Mounting Options:
    • Adhesive Strips: Peel the backing from the adhesive strips provided and firmly press the luminaire onto the desired surface. Hold for 30 seconds to ensure a strong bond.
    • Screws: If using screws, mark the desired mounting points. Drill pilot holes if necessary, then secure the luminaire using the provided screws.
  4. Adjust Light Direction (Tilt Function):

The luminaire features a tilt function, allowing you to adjust the angle of the light output. Gently pivot the light panel to direct illumination as needed.

5. Operating Instructions

The LEDVANCE NIGHTLUX Hall luminaire offers flexible operation modes:

  • Mode Switch: Locate the switch on the luminaire (often near the battery compartment or on the side). It typically has three positions:
    • ON: The light will remain continuously on, regardless of ambient light or motion.
    • OFF: The light will remain off.
    • AUTO: (Automatic Mode) In this mode, the integrated light sensor and motion sensor work together. The light will only activate when motion is detected in low ambient light conditions.
  • Motion Sensor: The passive infrared (PIR) motion sensor detects movement within its range. For optimal performance, ensure the sensor is not obstructed.
  • Light Sensor: The light sensor prevents the luminaire from activating during daylight hours, conserving battery life.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the luminaire with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Replacement: When the light output diminishes or the luminaire stops functioning, replace all three AAA batteries. Refer to Section 4.1 for battery insertion instructions.

7. Troubleshooting
