Setup

1. Unpacking and Contents Check

Carefully unpack all items from the packaging. Verify that all components are present:

  • TESMEN TSM-522S Smart Digital Multimeter
  • TESMEN TCM-300D Smart Digital Clamp Meter
  • Test Leads (for TSM-522S and TCM-300D)
  • Storage Bag
  • Temperature Probe Pens
  • Batteries (pre-installed or separate)
  • User Manuals (this document)

2. Battery Installation (if not pre-installed)

Locate the battery compartment on the back of each device. Use a screwdriver to open the compartment. Insert the specified batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-). Securely close the battery compartment.

3. Connecting Test Leads

For the TSM-522S Multimeter, insert the red test lead into the "VΩHz" or "INPUT" jack and the black test lead into the "COM" jack. For the TCM-300D Clamp Meter, if using test leads for voltage, resistance, or continuity measurements, connect them similarly to the appropriate jacks.

Operating Instructions

General Operation

  • Power On/Off: Press the power button to turn the device on or off.
  • Backlight: Press the backlight button (if available) to illuminate the display in low-light conditions.
  • Auto Power Off: Both devices feature an auto power-off function to conserve battery life. They will automatically shut down after a period of inactivity.
  • Data Hold: Press the "HOLD" button to freeze the current reading on the display. Press again to release.

TESMEN TCM-300D Smart Digital Clamp Meter Functions

The TCM-300D offers both smart auto mode and manual selection for various measurements.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Device does not power on. Dead or incorrectly installed batteries. Replace batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
Inaccurate readings. Low battery, incorrect function/range, damaged test leads, external interference. Replace batteries, select correct function, inspect/replace test leads, move away from strong electromagnetic fields.
"OL" or "OVERLOAD" displayed. Measurement exceeds the selected range or instrument's maximum capacity. Select a higher range (if applicable) or ensure the measurement is within the instrument's specifications.
No NCV detection. No AC voltage present, NCV sensor not close enough, or device malfunction. Verify power is present, ensure sensor is close to the conductor, test on a known live circuit.
