2. Receiver Mode (RX)

In RX mode, the ML301 receives audio from Bluetooth-enabled devices (like smartphones or tablets) and outputs it to non-Bluetooth audio systems (such as home stereos, wired speakers, or car audio).

  1. Connect one end of the 3.5mm AUX audio cable to the ML301's 3.5mm jack.
  2. Connect the other end of the AUX cable to the 3.5mm audio input jack of your audio receiver (e.g., wired speakers, amplifier, car audio).
  3. Slide the TX/RX switch to the 'RX' position. The ML301 will automatically enter pairing mode (the LED will flash red and blue alternately).
  4. Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone, tablet, or laptop and search for 'ML301' in the Bluetooth device list.
  5. Select 'ML301' to connect. Once paired, the ML301's LED will turn purple, indicating a successful connection.

3. Dual Device Connection (TX Mode)

The ML301 can connect to two Bluetooth headphones or speakers simultaneously in TX mode.

  1. Connect the ML301 to your audio source and pair it with the first Bluetooth device as described in the TX mode instructions.
  2. Once the first device is connected (LED turns purple), press the Bluetooth button on the ML301 for approximately 2 seconds until the LED flashes red and blue alternately again. This puts the ML301 back into pairing mode.
  3. Enable Bluetooth on your second headphones or speakers and place them close to the ML301.
  4. Once the second device is paired, the ML301's LED will turn purple, indicating both devices are connected.

4. Audio Codecs

The ML301 supports various audio codecs for optimal sound quality and latency:

  • aptX Adaptive: Dynamically adjusts audio quality and latency for the best experience, offering high-quality sound, stable connection, and low power consumption.
  • aptX HD: Provides CD-like high-quality stereo audio.
  • aptX Low Latency (LL): Ideal for TV viewing, minimizing audio delay to ensure lip-sync. Note: Both the ML301 and your receiving Bluetooth device (headphones/speakers) must support aptX LL for this feature to work. Otherwise, a delay of 70-220ms may occur.
  • AAC/SBC: Standard Bluetooth codecs.

In TX mode, the ML301 supports SBC/aptX/aptX HD/LL/Adaptive audio decoding. In RX mode, it supports SBC/AAC/aptX/aptX HD/Adaptive audio decoding.

Troubleshooting

  • Pairing Issues: If the ML301 fails to pair, ensure no other Bluetooth devices are connected to the ML301 or the target device. Turn off Bluetooth on previously paired devices (e.g., phone's Bluetooth). Keep the ML301 and the target Bluetooth device within 1 meter during pairing. You may need to reset the ML301's pairing record by pressing the Bluetooth button for 8-10 seconds until the light turns purple and flashes three times.
  • Audio Delay (Latency): For minimal delay, ensure both the ML301 and your Bluetooth headphones/speakers support aptX Low Latency (aptX LL) technology. If not, a delay of 70-220ms may occur. Note that aptX LL only functions in TX mode.
  • Automatic Shutdown: The ML301 features a power-off protection function. If it is not connected to any device within 5 minutes, it will automatically shut down. To use it again, slide the power switch from TX/RX to 'OFF' and then back to TX/RX. It will then reconnect to previously paired devices.
  • AirPods Compatibility: The ML301 is compatible with AirPods (1st and 2nd generation) but not with AirPods Pro (2nd generation) or AirPods Max.
