Setup Guide
1. Unpacking and Initial Cleaning
Carefully remove all packaging materials and components from the box. Before first use, wash all removable parts such as the water tank, drip tray, portafilter, and milk jug with warm water and mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
2. Positioning the Machine
Place the espresso machine on a stable, flat surface, away from heat sources and water. Ensure there is adequate space around the machine for ventilation and access to the water tank and bean hopper.

3. Filling the Water Tank
Remove the water tank from the back of the machine. Fill it with fresh, cold drinking water up to the MAX level indicator. Replace the tank securely in the machine.
4. Filling the Bean Hopper
Open the lid of the bean hopper located at the top of the machine. Pour fresh, whole coffee beans into the hopper. Close the lid securely to maintain bean freshness.

5. First Use and Priming
Plug the machine into a grounded electrical outlet. Follow the on-screen prompts or refer to the quick start guide for the initial priming cycle. This process flushes the internal circuits with water and prepares the machine for brewing.
Operating Instructions
1. Grinding Coffee Beans
The La Specialista Maestro features an integrated burr grinder with 15 adjustable settings. Select your desired grind size using the grind selector dial. For espresso, a fine grind is typically required. The machine automatically doses the correct amount of coffee for a single or double shot.
2. Smart Tamping Technology
After grinding, the Smart Tamping Technology ensures consistent and mess-free tamping. Insert the portafilter into the grinding station and pull the lever down firmly until it clicks. This applies the optimal pressure for an even coffee bed, crucial for consistent extraction.

Figure 3: This image demonstrates the assisted tamping feature, where a user pulls a lever to compress the coffee grounds in the portafilter, ensuring a consistent tamp without manual effort.
3. Brewing Espresso
Attach the portafilter firmly into the brewing group. Select your desired beverage (e.g., Espresso, Americano) from the control panel. The machine allows for 5 temperature settings to optimize extraction for different bean types. Press the brew button to start the extraction process. The 19-bar Italian pump ensures optimal pressure for a rich crema.

4. Milk Frothing Options
The La Specialista Maestro offers both automatic and manual milk frothing.
- Automatic Frothing (LatteCrema Hot System): Fill the LatteCrema milk jug with milk. Attach it to the machine. Select a milk-based beverage (e.g., Cappuccino, Latte Macchiato) from the menu. The system automatically froths and dispenses milk directly into your cup.
- Manual Frothing (Commercial Style Steam Wand): For hands-on control, use the powerful steam wand. Immerse the tip of the wand into a milk jug filled with cold milk. Turn the steam knob to activate steam and froth milk to your desired texture.

5. Cold Brew and Espresso Cool
The machine features proprietary Cold Extraction Technology for cold brew beverages. Select 'Cold Brew' or 'Espresso Cool' from the beverage presets. The machine uses specific water flow, pressure, and temperature rates to create these refreshing drinks in under 5 minutes.

- Portafilter: After each use, remove spent coffee grounds and rinse the portafilter and filter basket under running water.
