Operating Instructions
Default Button Functions
The remote control features standard buttons for audio device control:
- POWER: Turns the device on or off.
- Device Key (Source): Switches the signal input source.
- VOL+ / VOL-: Adjusts the volume up or down.
- BASS: Adjusts bass levels.

Brand Search Mode (Code Programming)
If the remote does not fully control your device, you may need to program it using the brand search mode:
- Press and hold the desired Device Key (e.g., TV, CBL-SAT, BD-DVD, GAME, AUX) for approximately 3 seconds. Release the key when its indicator light remains steadily on.
- Enter the 4-digit brand code for your device. The indicator light will flash once after each digit is entered.
- To test different codes for the current brand, press VOL+ or VOL-. This will cycle through available code groups.
- Once the device responds correctly, press the EXIT button to save the code. The indicator light will blink three times to confirm saving.
- If no operation is performed for 30 seconds during steps 1 and 2, all indicator lights will blink three times, and the remote will exit the search mode without saving.
Note: When programming non-Bose audio devices, pressing a non-Bose audio key will send the current key code of the current code group.
One-Click Shutdown Function
To activate a one-click shutdown sequence for multiple devices:
- Press and hold the "CBL-SAT" and "TV" buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds.
- The TV/CBL-SAT indicator lights will blink three times.
- After this setting, the remote will send three frames of the TV electrical source code, three frames of the CBL-SAT electrical source code, and the BOSE audio electrical source code for a synchronized shutdown.
Maintenance
Battery Replacement
Replace batteries when the remote's response becomes sluggish or the indicator lights dim. Always replace both AAA batteries at the same time with new ones. Do not mix old and new batteries or different types of batteries.
Cleaning
To clean the remote control, use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners, sprays, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the remote's surface or internal components.
Troubleshooting
- Remote not responding:
- Check if batteries are inserted correctly with correct polarity.
- Replace old batteries with new AAA batteries.
- Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the device's infrared receiver.
- Confirm the remote is pointed directly at the device.
- Specific functions not working:
- If a specific device key (e.g., TV, AUX) is not controlling the intended device, try using the Brand Search Mode to program the correct code.
- Ensure the correct input source is selected on your Bose system.
- Programming difficulties:
- Ensure you are holding the device key for the full 3 seconds until the indicator light is steady.
- Double-check the 4-digit brand code. If unsure, try cycling through codes using VOL+/-.
- Make sure to press EXIT to save the code before the 30-second timeout.
