5. Care and Maintenance
Cleaning
- Always unplug the kettle and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the kettle and the base with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
- Interior: The kettle interior is 100% stainless steel. For general cleaning, rinse with water. For stubborn stains or mineral deposits (limescale), use a descaling solution specifically designed for kettles or a mixture of white vinegar and water. Fill the kettle with the solution, let it sit for an hour (or boil if using vinegar), then rinse thoroughly several times.
- Do not immerse the power base or cord in water or any other liquid.
- This kettle is not dishwasher safe. Hand wash only.
Storage
When not in use, store the kettle in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children.
6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Kettle does not heat. | Not plugged in; kettle not properly seated on base; no power to outlet. | Ensure plug is securely in outlet. Check if kettle is correctly placed on the base. Test outlet with another appliance. |
| Water does not reach desired temperature. | Temperature setting too low; kettle removed from base too early. | Verify the target temperature setting. Allow the kettle to complete its heating cycle. |
| Kettle continuously re-boils (at high altitudes). | Boiling point of water is lower at higher altitudes, causing the kettle to attempt to reach 212°F (100°C). | Manually set the target temperature below the actual boiling point for your altitude (e.g., 200-205°F). The kettle will then stop heating once that temperature is reached. |
| Loud beeping sound. | Normal operation sound when target temperature is reached or buttons are pressed. | This is a functional alert. There is no option to disable the beep. |
| Display not working or buttons unresponsive. | Temporary electronic glitch; power interruption. | Unplug the kettle for 1 minute, then plug it back in. Ensure buttons are pressed firmly. If issue persists, contact customer support. |
| Water tastes strange. | New kettle residue; mineral buildup; infrequent cleaning. | Perform initial cleaning steps (boil and discard water several times). Clean the interior regularly to prevent mineral buildup. |
