Setup
1. Attaching the Cable
- Select either the 3-meter straight cable or the 5-meter coiled cable based on your preference and setup.
- Align the 3-pin mini XLR connector of the chosen cable with the input port on the left earcup of the headphones.
- Push the connector firmly into the port until it clicks into place, ensuring a secure connection.
2. Choosing and Installing Ear Pads
The DT 1770 PRO MKII headphones include two types of ear pads for different listening experiences:
- Velour Ear Pads: Offer a plush, warm, and highly insulating experience, ideal for focused listening and longer studio sessions.
- Leatherette Ear Pads: Provide a more breathable feel and can offer a slightly punchier bass response, suitable for extended use or when higher sound isolation is desired.
To change the ear pads:
- Gently pull the existing ear pad away from the earcup to detach it.
- Align the new ear pad with the earcup, ensuring the inner ring of the ear pad fits around the earcup's edge.
- Press firmly around the circumference of the ear pad until it is securely attached to the earcup.

Operating
Connecting to Audio Sources
The DT 1770 PRO MKII headphones feature a 30 Ohm Tesla.45 driver, allowing them to be driven by a variety of devices. While they can function with laptops, smartphones, and other portable devices, optimal performance and the full dynamic range are achieved when connected to a dedicated headphone amplifier or an audio interface with a robust headphone output.
- For Laptops/Smartphones: Connect the 3.5mm jack (or appropriate adapter) to your device's headphone output. Adjust volume directly on your device.
- For Studio Equipment/Audio Interfaces: Connect the 6.35mm (1/4 inch) jack to your audio interface, mixing console, or dedicated headphone amplifier. Adjust volume using the controls on your audio equipment.

Maintenance
Cleaning
- Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior surfaces of the headphones.
- Ear pads can be removed for cleaning. Velour ear pads may be hand-washed with mild soap and water, then air-dried completely. Leatherette ear pads should be wiped with a damp cloth.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the finish.
Storage
When not in use, store your headphones in the provided premium hardcase to protect them from dust, moisture, and physical damage. Ensure cables are neatly coiled to prevent tangling or damage.
Troubleshooting
- No Sound: Check all cable connections, ensure the cable is fully inserted into both the headphone earcup and the audio source. Verify the audio source is playing and its volume is turned up.
- Distorted Sound: Reduce the volume on your audio source or amplifier. Ensure the audio source is not overdriving the headphones. Check for damaged cables.
- Uncomfortable Fit: Adjust the headband and try swapping between the velour and leatherette ear pads to find the most comfortable option for extended use.
